HELLO ALL!

I have good news!

New version of Philips HUE VD that is now called Phillips HUE AIO VD version 3.0 I just published on Fibaro Marketplace. At moment of writing this post it is still waiting to be approved, but I wrote e-mail to Marketplace support and I hope they will approve it very soon.

Here is list of FEATURES:

  • Consists of two VD's: Philips HUE Preview VD which connects to Philips HUE bridge and downloads information of all lights and groups of lights and greatly simplifies installation of Philips HUE AIO VD that controls individual HUE bulbs or group of bulbs.
  • Philips HUE Preview VD has button for generating authorization username and for easy connection to Philips HUE bridge
  • Support for multiple HUE bridges and most of the Philips HUE bulbs including bulbs from other manufacturers that can be connected to HUE bridge.
  • HUE AIO VD recognizes different types of bulbs like multicolor, white ambience and dimmable and enables proper controls
  • Can control brightness, hue, saturation, color temperature and transition speed that can be set from instant to 10 seconds duration
  • Buttons to activate colorloop efect and Alerts
  • Multilanguage support with 27 languages included. VD's can use HC2 selected language or user can select any other available language. VD will be automatically translated to the selected language (visible after refreshing page on browser or refreshing network data on Fibaro mobile application)
  • Easy setup for VD icons that will also setup icons for all buttons and sliders of the VD. (on UHASTM compatible version is even more easier to setup VD icons with Icon Preview VD)
  • On HUE AIO VD user can setup separated on and off button or have on/off toggle button
  • Self adding of global variables needed and global variable data integrity checking
  • Automatic repair of global variables without user intervention
  • New approach to programming other code to control this VD enables future upgrades without needing to change that code. (See more about that in User Manual provided)

Installing Philips HUE VD is now extremely easy and time saving action and with provided User manual you will have total control over your Philips HUE bridges with Home Center 2 in very short time. Now there is no more reason to keep being stuck with Fibaro Philips HUE plugin that can't control new type of HUE bulbs or strips and is not updated for very long time. Besides that, Philips HUE AIO VD looks much more beautiful with provided icon packs! :-)

Hi @@jorgei ,

As it is mentioned in my post Philips HUE AIO VD is available for download on Fibaro marketplace. Unfortunately I can see that marketplace is not accessible for few days, but I hope Fibaro will make it available soon.

Thanks @Sankotronic - downloaded earlier today, and is looking forward to install and test. Looks like the manual is a detailed instruction for use, so this would probably go fine :-).

If i'v read the manual right there is no need for Hue plugin?

That is correct, Philips HUE AIO VD does not need HUE plugin to be installed, but does require Philips HUE Preview VD to be installed FIRST!

Only one thing to say - this VD realy nailed it @Sankotronic. In the user manual there is a section on how to register the ID for the most used ICON pack. Is it correct that the ID looks like this format: User1001.png, or do i have to use the whole path like

XX.X.X.XX/fibaro/n_vicons/User1001.png

The icons is available in the VD after adding them, bt i'm not sure if they are supposed to be seen in the SA_HUE without me doing some more actions.?... This is probably a question because of my limited knowlegde about VD's ....

Hi again.

I solved the problem with the light ID, and to be sure i had a clean installation i took a restore from a backup from yesterday. I installed the Preview VD first, everything came on OK, annd all icon's are working, all light groups and lights can be controlled - this is all i have been looking for for HC2, but i wonder about one thing.

Is it correct that the icon changes to this one when i adjust the brightness. This icon is vied for a few seconds, and then the icon according to the brightness appears.

I also have to say thanks for this VD - it really made my day!!!!

I solved this issue by my self - actually it was quite simple. But this could be a topic for improving the installation manual - when i found out the format for the ID setting everything worked out really well....

Any plans for integration of Philips HUE dimmer?

Hello Sanko,

there is a way to "make a group" of lights manually inside HC2? From your instructions I can either choose a group or a light, do the VD support also choosing multiple lights or multiple groups of lights in the configuration panel?

Hi Sanko,

I can't find it on Fibaro Marketplace :(

Not with the link provided here or with manual search.

Is it still online @ Marketplace?

Cheers!

Hi all,

I just found out that Philips HUE AIO VD is removed to be reviewed by Fibaro marketplace team. I don't know why they do that, so I wrote to them to release it again.

If I don't get replay on Monday and if it is not released till then, I will move all my releases from market place to this forum download section which seems to me much better organized and have more options than marketplace, not to mention than forum administrators are much faster in support.

Thank you for patience and understanding.

Hi @Redeemer ,

Philips HUE AIO VD can control either single lamp or single group of lamps so it must be imported for each lamp or each group of lamps. Group of lamps is of course defined using original Philips HUE app and can't be defined in HC2. For example all HUE lamps in living room can be joined in one group and controlled by single copy of Philips HUE AIO VD but you can also import copy of Philips HUE AIO VD for each lamp in the living room to control them individually, or you can define two groups of lamps in living room and use two instances of Philips HUE AIO VD to control them. It is really up to you and original Philips HUE app how you will organize groups.

Hi @Sankotronic

Thank you for your explanation. Too bad I can't assign the same light into two "rooms" in the original Hue app.

One more thing: I want to create a scene where, when i turn off a light, it will switch on a Fibaro switch for a couple of minutes. Can you help me do that? I'm totally new to LUA scripting, and can't find a site that helps me understand how it works. Hoped to use blocks scripting, but your VD doesn't appear as triggers.

Hi @grave ,

Well, it would be helpful if you can tell more about error you get, like exact error text or even screenshot, otherwise I'm unable to help.

In Firefox I get "File could not be saved because the source file could not be read." error. In Chrome it's just "Faliure - Network error". In IE I can't even log into Fibaro ID (only blank screen is displayed). On Edge downloaded zip is corrupted and can't be unziped, it have 0 bytes.

That is the same error I start getting after update of Firefox two months ago. It also often refuses to export VD from HC on local network with same error that source file is not available.

I don't use Chrome, IE and Edge since I'm on Apple, but it seems that you have some trouble with your network or connection to the internet even it is not obvious from visiting other sites. Maybe cleaning cache in browsers can help?

Hi ALL,

There is definitely some problems with Fibaro marketplace. :-( I have decided and now working on moving all my work from marketplace back here to forum download.

Please give me and forum administrators few days to complete the transfer. Thank you!

Hello Can I use a scene to select a fixture via the Preview VD and turn it on / off? So far, I can only control the dialing light but do not select over a scene.
