  1. Sorry, cannot resist this: Experienced Fibaro user should know by now that waiting for promised fixes is like Waiting for Godot. You have to enjoy the waiting even though we all know it will never happen. Someone in Poland (or Italy) has obviously got the misconception that this will spur us all running to buy a HC3. Not. Problem is still not fixed as of December 2021. I have reconciled myself with turning off polling.
  2. Hi! The HeatIt Z-Smoke is a combined Smoke/Motion/Temperature detecor. I have just realised that the support for Z-Smoke in HC2 is faulty. Here is what happens: The Z-Smoke motion detector will NOT trigger the Motion Detector device in HC2, but will trigger the Smoke detector device (!): The motion detector device will stay "Unbreached". I have made contact with HeatIt customer support, who has confirmed that this is a known bug and states clearly that this is a Fibaro problem. My previous experience with Fibaro indicates that getting this fixed will be a walk in the desert. Customer support also states that the problem is fixed in HC3. But I am NOT buying a new hub to fix this stupid error. Therefore: Has anyone a LUA workaround for HC2 for this potentially very useful detector?
  3. In my ongoing odyssey to integrate an IKEA Trådfri Bulb in my HCL, I reached the stage of installing the Hue Plugin. I sent it searching for the Philips Hue, but without success. I have confirmed the Hue is working, since it is able to control the IKEA bulb. I have also confirmed the IP address on my LAN by using a network scanner app. But even entering the 192.168.1.101 address manually is to no avail. I have of course taken all the desperate measures, turning everything on/off, resetting the router etc etc. Ideas anyone? .
  4. Hi!Fibaro has recently launched the app version 1.6.0.Whereas this may have introduced some improvements, I (and numerous other users) are extremely annoyed to see that support for HeatIt Z-TRM thermostats is still missing. This was present in the previous Fibaro app. Why you have chosen to redesign your app, and omit a perfectly working and useful functionality, is a mystery to me and numerous users in Scandinavia.Let me explain the significance of this, as it seems to have missed the attiention of your development team completely. In Scandinavia electrical floor heating is quite commonplace. Whereas the envrionmental significance of this practise is debatable, the availability of affordable hydroelectical power makes this practise cost effective. In order to regulate this heating, a number of users have invested in a Fibaro controllers to optimise their heating schedules. Personally I have 15 HeatIt units diveded among 3 buildings.I am depending on heating schedules / «Panels» to make this work.In the old app, I could manually access each HeatIt unit and manually check and turn on/off HeaIt units if necessary. So far, only the temperature readout is available in the new app.Can you please tell your Scandinavian customers if and when this functional will be reinstalled?Until this is clarified, further hype of HC3 and similar promises will be empty words. It might very well be so that the Fibaro policy is to neglect your Scandinavian customer base in order to serve more profitable markets. if so, please tell us in plain words so we may have the opportunity to move on to other brands to serve our Smart Home systems. Please note that this complaint will be posted on the official Fibaro Forum as well as all available Scandinavian Fibaro soclal media channels. 5. I have set up a Nexa wallplug to switch and dim some lights. This is working well, both through my Fibaro app and my HCL. For convenience I want to control the Nexa dimmer through a HeatIt Z-Push Button8. I have set up the Push Button8 in my HC by using the simple setup available in the web interface. I can switch lights, but push & hold will not dim as expected. I have in fact the same problem with Fibaro Dimmer2 in another HC2 system. Pushing the defined HeatIt button will switch, but holding will not dim. Ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.
  6. Hi! I am searching for a solution to the following challenge: I am regulation the heating in my house by Heating Panel. To override the scheduled daytime lowering on weekdays (when e.g. working from home), I have borrowed a virtual device LUA code that works well. It is basically a VD with three buttons, for "Schedule", "Holiday" and "Home" respectively. This code will however only accept one single override temperatur for all zones. I want my bathrooms at a higher temperature. It must certainly be possible to amend the LUA code to achieve this. I have tried to manipulate the LUA code by adding duplicates og the core subroutine with changed variables for the zone ID in question, but the code will not run. Not very surprising, since my understanding of LUA is very limited. Is there anyone out there with better LUA competence who could propose a solution? The code for the "Home" VD button is given below. My bathrooms are Zone 204, which I want to stay on 24C, not the common 22C temperature. local zoneIds = {22,23,33,47,204} -- En komma separeret liste med de Zoneid du ønsker at opdatere local target = 22-- Din target temperatur. 0 = vacation disabled local HC2 = Net.FHttp("127.0.0.1",11111) local function updateZone(id) local response ,status, errorCode = HC2:GET("/api/panels/heating/"..id) local jsonTable = false if (status == "200") then jsonTable = json.decode(response) end if (jsonTable ~= false) then jsonTable.properties.vacationTemperature = target HC2:PUT("/api/panels/heating/"..id, json.encode(jsonTable)) return true end return false end for n, zoneId in ipairs(zoneIds) do if (updateZone(zoneId)) then fibaro:debug("Updated Zone "..zoneId); else fibaro:debug("Failed to Update Zone "..zoneId); end end
  7. Hi! I have struggled for a while to understand why my Alexa Echo Dot will not recognise ALL of my Fibaro Block Scenes (NB None of these are LUA code). After testing a few random hypotheses, I decided to attack the problem systematically. And much to my surprise, I found the following: My test scene looks like the attached screenshot. The intention of the scene is to turn off all lights and a few devices at night. A total of 9 Off/Set value 0 commands. Only Fibaro dimmers, switches and wall plugs. Whatever I have tried previously, Alexa will not recognise this scene. Then I did the following: Deleted device blocks one after another from the bottom up. When I reached and deleted #7 ("Coffee"), the scene was suddely recognised. I then added the devices one after another. "Discover devices" (the Alexa command) found the scene every time. Even when I included the last device, i.e. back to EXACT the same block scene as I have initially not been able to get Alexa to recognise. I did of course also test that Alexa is actually executing the scene. Which she is. By using this stepwise delete and rebuild procedure, I have been able to get all of my desired scenes up and running with Alexa. Weird. Ideas anyone? My test scene
  8. Sorry for not responding. Right now my HC2 has crashed and I have serious restore problems. Hence, I cannot share my VD. Will get back to you if and when I get a new HC2 back on track. The Fibaro backup/restore is a halfway house. Have been told that a cloud solution is now launched. A bit late for me, I'm afraid.
  9. Totally in agreement with amurray85@ . Yes Fibaro is also a BYO system (that's why I bought it in the first place) . But it is also a low entry barrier system due to it's admittedly marvellously accessible interface and programming functionality. Included the block scene editor. Which lifts it far above other systems that are either extremely limited or very geeky programming dependent systems. So I would guess one of the competitive advantages is to keep customers like myself, namely quite creative and interested in putting the system to practical uses, but not very willing to dive into the serious depths of LUA programming. So keep improving guys! A notification center in an app with no notifications seems to me like a half way house. Likewise an iPad app not able to run virtual devices also seems to be unfinished business. And please Fibaro, do not waste your development team on animating flames to indicate that temperature is being measured....
  10. I have set up a few push notifications to my iPhone 7+ to alert me of key events triggered by my Fibaro HC2. The following problem occurs: (1) With the Fibaro iPhone app closed, push notifications shows up both on a closed as well as an open iPhone screen as expected. However, the Fibaro Icon is marked with the red "alert icon", but the Notification tray in the app is empty and the Log shows zero entries. (2) With the Fibaro iPhone app open, nothing happens. No sound alert, no message, empty "In tray", zero log as above. Has anybody an idea how to solve this? I have checked my iphone settings and activated all relevant Notification options.
  11. Great! Thanks a lot !! This is what happens when a lazy person like myself convert code from block scene to LUA and start modifying without bothering to learn things properly. I have struggled a lot with understanding what "The scene will run" really means. Does it mean: (1) Execute the IF test and do nothing if the IF conditions is not true (2) Execute the THEN statement, regardless whether the preceding IF condition is true or false I guess (2) is what happens. This is equivalent to saying that you do not "trigger" the IF test. The IF test is one way of triggering. Manual execution another. And a change in one of the trigger variables a third. Am i right ?
  12. Hi! I do not understand your advice. Remove the Snow variable...? The wole point is to trigger the scene at certain times IF Snow = Yes.
  13. I have a scene that is suppposed to check a variable called "Snow" at Monday through Friday at 5 am and 3 pm and weekends at 7 pm and 3 pm. If Snow = "Yes", a scene is activated, turning on my outdoors heating mats for 2 hours (and at the same time resetting Snow = "No"). My thinking is to limit the use of expensive snow melting electricity to max 2 + 2 = 4 hours / 24 hours The problem with the code below is that the scene triggers with variable Snow = "Yes" also outside the stated hours. What is it I am not getting right here ? I thought the AND operator had hierarchial priority over OR and that the code below would turn on the heater if the variable Snow = "Yes" AND the time is 5 am or 3 pm on weekdays or 7 am and 3 pm in weekends. But it seem to trigger whenever the variable Snow = "Yes", also outside these hours. Help will be highly appreciated! (Scene 51 is the scene actually turning on the heating mats for two hours): Best regards Jo --[[ %% autostart %% properties %% weather %% events %% globals Snow --]] local sourceTrigger = fibaro:getSourceTrigger(); function tempFunc() local currentDate = os.date("*t"); local startSource = fibaro:getSourceTrigger(); if ( ( ((currentDate.wday == 2 or currentDate.wday == 3 or currentDate.wday == 4 or currentDate.wday == 5 or currentDate.wday == 6) and string.format("%02d", currentDate.hour) .. ":" .. string.format("%02d", currentDate.min) == "05:00") ) and ( fibaro:getGlobalValue("Snow") == "Yes" ) or ( ((currentDate.wday == 1 or currentDate.wday == 2 or currentDate.wday == 3 or currentDate.wday == 4 or currentDate.wday == 5 or currentDate.wday == 6 or currentDate.wday == 7) and string.format("%02d", currentDate.hour) .. ":" .. string.format("%02d", currentDate.min) == "15:00") ) and ( fibaro:getGlobalValue("Snow") == "Yes" ) or ( ((currentDate.wday == 1 or currentDate.wday == 7) and string.format("%02d", currentDate.hour) .. ":" .. string.format("%02d", currentDate.min) == "07:00") ) and ( fibaro:getGlobalValue("Snow") == "Yes" ) ) then fibaro:setGlobal("Snow", "No"); fibaro:startScene(51); end
  14. And suddenly Alexa is working. I do not really understand why, neither does Fibaro Customer Support, but two possibilities remain: (1) Amazon finally listened to the numerous complaints and did something to their API to allow for longer Fibaro response times before timeout error occurs (2) The changes I did to my system were successful, namely making all device and scene names short and unique. That is changing "Kitchen Table" and "Kitchen Bench" to "Table" and "Bench"
  15. I am eager to understand the function of the different "Devices" showing up on my HC2 when installing a Fibaro Switch2 or Dimmer2: A Fibaro Switch 2 will show up in the HC2 as Master + 4 devices. From previous helpful answers I have accepted the Master as merely a "shell". I also see that one of the slave devices is named "Remote", so I assume this is to be used for direct association to a remote of some sort. But why do I see three switches and not just two for each of the S2 and S2 terminals? One of the three seems to be directly controlling one (and just one) of the remaining two. But not the other way round. Switching A will switch B, but not C. And B will not switch A. I´ve tried to figure out the purpose of this arrangement, but ran out of ideas. Any insight into this question will be appreciated! The manual did not provide any help.
