  1. @Thomasn how did you found the particular problem?
  2. Hi I have built a HA system from the ground up. Its not a big flat, so not a very lot of devices, but EVERYTHING is on Zwave. And of course, the middle of it, is a HC2. That is why its very annoying if does not work. Most of my rooms run UHAS/Very Small Lightning, so they turn lights on automatically. Usually, more than one light. Almost once every day, I enter in a room, and the light comes on only about a minute late. Or I exit to go back in half an hour, finding one light still on - 3 more have turned off. Sometimes I go home to find a light on, even though arming my alarm system shut them all down, and it does it for all, except one, maybe another. Sometimes I send an OFF command to my AC, and nothing happens, I press it several times on my phone, and in 2-3 minutes I hear it beeping - six times. Very annoying, when frineds come over and keep asking why I not just press the remote. And sometimes it works instantly, flawlessly. I played with Intellihome on the iPad and sometimes I saw it saying 'command sent' and it takes about 30 secs to say 'accepted'. Sometimes, its instantly accepted. So it looks to me like the command goes out from the HC2, but it either does not reach the light, or it does not acknowledge it. Other times, I press a button on the intellihome, and nothing happens. I wait a minute, press it again, then it flicks and turns the light off. If the little slider in the app moves only when the HC2 has answered to the commend, then the problem is in the HC2. I have, according to the GUI, 76 devices. 95% of them is mains powered (as I had them all wired into an outlet), only the Danfoss controllers, and the few fibaro sensors are not (most of the rooms have at least one Aeon sensor, which is wired). Almost every device has another device in less than a feet. In a mesh network, that should give perfect communication. I have, however did a walk check with a multisensor and its built in range checker, and it displays direct connection from every place of my flat, except the upstairs batroom's farthest corner. I have tried rebuilding the mesh network several times, so I am sure its not communication related. I live in a very busy area and wifi is a struggle (I can see about 20 hotspots around me), so I dont think its a network issue. Unless, of course, the modules try to communicate directly only. But even directly, they should have no problem. I have at least one dead device a week. I cannot upgrade firmware in, for example, an RGBW controller unless I remove it and put it RIGHT NEXT to the fibaro. My CPU is 6-30%, RAM is 50%. I try to do a reboot every week. I dont have ANY devices in secure mode. Device polling time is set to 550. I do have some unused devices, as I made the mistake of buying a lot of the Zipato double switch, and they create like 16 subdevices, as HC2 has no template for them. They are 4 swithces, 4 voltage, power and amps meters. I have some of them disabled, but its a long and tedious process and I dont want to do that unless someone says thats the root of my problem. I run about 20 scenes, not more. I jsut ordered a zwave sniffer, but I am not sure I'll have the time to dig into it. Anybody has any insight? Thanks in advance. Balazs
  3. okay, so I have this now: --[[ %% properties 295 value 298 value 317 value %% weather %% events %% globals --]] local startSource = fibaro:getSourceTrigger(); if ( ( tonumber(fibaro:getValue(295, "value")) > 0 ) -- wc motion triggered or ( tonumber(fibaro:getValue(298, "value")) > 70 ) -- wc humidity triggered or ( tonumber(fibaro:getValue(317, "value")) > 0 ) -- wc smoke triggered -- or -- startSource["type"] == "other" ) then fibaro:call(413, "turnOn"); fibaro:debug('turning wc fan on'); else fibaro:call(413, "turnOff"); fibaro:debug('turning wc fan off'); end its not the best, as the debug is pretty stupid - I cannot tell which sensor caused the fan to come on. I can have the debug line list the value of all 3 triggers, I guess, or I can write 4 IFs, 3 for the 3 triggers, and one to turn off if all 3 triggers are off (since ELSE would not work then). That approach may let me have the fan run longer than the motion sensor's alarm time (better for odor removal) I tested with motion and it works ok, and will test with humidity (hopefully not smoke :D) however, there is one thing. The debug window looks like this: [DEBUG] 09:41:55: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 09:46:55: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:21:57: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:26:58: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:46:09: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:47:00: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:52:00: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 10:57:00: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 14:32:13: turning wc fan off[DEBUG] 17:27:24: turning wc fan off and so on. Something is causing to the scene to run, but then it finds all 3 triggers off..now it cannot really be the motion or the smoke, because changing those would start the fan, too. And the humidity is set to report at 5% change. But just for safety, I looked in the event panels. There are about 20 debug lines today (all fan off), and there was no report today from either the motion of humidity sensors (as I wasnt home). But I cannot see anything else causing the scene to run... any ideas? is there and 'event panel' for scenes? thanks Balazs
  4. hmm. @Vinisz's scene is basically determines if the humidity is over 85, then decides to turn the fan on or not, then immediately shuts itself. Since the sensor report is once in every few minutes, the scene will definietly be finished by the time the new value comes in... and so the new value will decide to stop or not. Sounds very simple. Even too simple - most scenes I see spend a lot of energy to deal with this situation but I'll see how it works. The same can be done for motion sensor.
  5. Also, sorry for my questions, but does an IF statement checks only once? If I say if humidity >70 then turn on else turn off can I have the same scene check the sensor repeteadly? idk something like if humidity >70 then Turn on Goto check again else Turn off Exit loop then I can just kill all the other processes and keep this one only.
  6. Wow that was educational. Exactly the in depth problem I need thanks! I’ll take some time to devour this, right now I’m sitting on a ski lift (it’s unbelievable what you find time on a holiday, especially if you bring a laptop because you need to do some paperwork! ) whats the the point of autostart? Why should I not wait till the first auto trigger?
  7. Hi @petergebruers i have spent a couple of hours reading your post about your scene. I was very impressed with it but it’s not really for my needs. First you stated yours is only for one sensor, and while I could use the bathroom sensor to sense the shower too, I’d rather have both. Even more importantly, I live in a much less humid area, but the room has toilet too, so ‘odor removal’ is more important. For this I can only use the motion sensor, which is not something your scene can handle. I think my my question is more programmatical. If a trigger is placed in the header, every change starts a new instance of a scene? If one scene turns a light on and waits, the other will later turn it on again. But then the second one will turn it off early, right?
  8. Hi sorry for the stupid title, I dont have any better right now tl/dr: do a trigger keep rerunning/starting a new instance of a scene? long version: I want to create a scene where my bathroom fan turns on if humidity sensor is over 70%, then turn off. If I do this: if ( tonumber(fibaro:getValue(298, "value")) > 70 ) then fibaro:call(413, "turnOn"); fibaro:debug('WC humidity over 70. Turning fan on.'); fibaro:sleep(120000); fibaro:call(413, "turnOff"); fibaro:debug('WC humidity under 70. Turning fan off.'); end will the HC2 check for the humidity every second or so? and if yes, will it start a new instance of the same scene, or somehow lenghten this? or shall I do this? if ( tonumber(fibaro:getValue(298, "value")) > 70 ) then fibaro:call(413, "turnOn"); fibaro:debug('WC humidity over 70. Turning fan on.'); else fibaro:call(413, "turnOff"); fibaro:debug('WC humidity under 70. Turning fan off.'); end but in this case, will the fan turn off is the humidity falls under 70? I cannot find a good description of triggers, and it seems so important... thanks in advance
  9. I have about 9, all on small USB type power supplies. Mostly on 5W chinese copies of iphone charger, some on 4-out chargers shared with cameras. I had a couple of false freeze/fire alarms. Interesting to hear this, will check. Thanks!
  10. i have not tried direct association, but I have associated zwave switches with no load as 2 or 3-way systems. Works ok. Of course if the HC2 is down the nondirect association would not work. Its also slower. Also, there _are_ zwave switches. But they tend to look ugly, and expensive. A simple single or dual switch would work. Stay away from the cheap ones though, they either dislike being without a load or would not report status.
  11. Hi I am wondering how precise the wattage reading is on the RGBW controller. In my bedroom I have about 8 meters of 24V RGBW led strips. According to the manufacturer, they draw about 20W/m, so we installed 160Ws of power supply. at around 85%, the leds cut out, and start to blink. Apparently either the PSUs dont deliver, or, more likely, some power is lost on the cabling etc. Not a big deal. Since these are ambiance lights, I never need them full power, so I decide to limit the maximum brightness in the advanced settings of the RGBW controller in HC2. I started gradually increasing brightness until I found the allowed maximum...and to my utter suprise, the wattage reader says 75 watts...that cannot be right. if it would be one single 100W PSU I'd accept it to choke at 75W, but thats unlikely, these modern units deliver nicely. I am thinking it might only measure one leg, as I have a 100W and a 60W PSU wired together to deliver the 160W, but I dont see how that can be done from an electrical standpoint. Anybody?
  12. Hi @riemers I came across your code while looking for a way to read xml from a website. I am a complete novice, so I hope you can help me a bit modifying your code. Basically I need to read lines from an xml that is called /Web0/data/werte8.xml, and has datalines like: <PARAMETER> <LANG>de</LANG> <ID>v00101</ID> <VA>0</VA> <ID>v00102</ID> <VA>2</VA> <ID>v00094</ID> <VA>1</VA> <ID>v00099</ID> <VA>0</VA> All I need is to find an ID and read the number. You can actually see the file at: https://www.easycontrols.net/demo/Web0/data/werte8.xml. This is a Helios air exchanger. They have a demo web at https://www.easycontrols.net/demo/Web0/info.htm I have copied your last code in a new virtual device, entered the IP, and I suppose I have to do this: response, status, errorCode = MIELE:GET("/Web0/data/werte8.xml") but after that I am pretty stuck. if you can give any pointers i'd be grateful.
  13. Hi @Sankotronic I’m just starting my own HA system. Two floor flat about 800 sq feet, 9 rooms (just think about adding 2 more for the two showers). It has been designed with HA in mind - every single light is controlled, every room has a multisensor and a Sonos, every radiator has danfoss heads, and there are a ton of rgbw strips. Air exchanger is integrated as well as Simple Control for audiophile and home cinema. I want complex scenes and full automation. I’m planning it for a year and we are not moving for another month. I am, however a beginner. I’d love to start using your system, just started with VSL. I love to beta test, but I’ll probably have a lot of questions. If that’s ok, I’d love to start beta testing (today evening, if possible ). Otherwise I start with your existing modules and change over but I hate to redo things so if you think UHAS is ready for me, I’m more than ready! thanks balazs
  14. Hi @PreHack can you point me towards what you mean? The only thing I found here is where someone said there will be music visualization later on. I’m a beginner so it might have been in the code and I missed it... thanks for the answer Balázs
  15. Hi i am starting to put together a system. It’s not a big flat but I decided to have every light and every other thing I can in the system. So a lot of lights, even more rgbw led strips, iPads in the walls, and sonos speakers. So so I want to create a ‘party’ mode as it’s a pretty young and fun place. I would love to take the rhythm of the music played in the Sonos and have the lights change brightness and/or color to it. Any ideas?
