HCL upgrade to HC2

savage

Question

After owning a HCL for several months I now know that I really miss LUA. Is it possible to upgrade to a HC2 without having to reconnect and create scripts for all devices?

I was also wondering about the power consumption of the HC2. Is that very high?

Power consumption of HC2 is between 8-15W. You can always buy HC2 and connect HCL with Gateway connection functionality - you will have access to all devices you already added on HCL.

  • Thanks for the response, that indeed sounds as a possible solution.

I understand that the gateway can be used for increased stability. Can you tell me if there are additional advantages to having this dual setup (HC2 + HCL)?

savage, you can use it to extend range radically, or even control two places with one device e.g. pool house has LAN connection but is too far from main house to be controlled by its z-wave, you can install HCL in it.

Does this help in stability or performance of the whole setup? My current HCL sometimes has slow responsive scene triggers.
