Hello everybody. I would like to build a SmartMirror - and later integrate it into the HC. Does anyone have a tip where you can get cheap displays with touch? Or. What is recommended? greeting

might make more sense to have the whole thread in English, so others can contribute easier

inexpensive touch displays might be best to get a cheap tablet or a used one or when the 'last year' product sale takes place.

In general such displays in the non professional area are expensive as the volume is too small unless you buy 200k ;-). Prices higher than a tablet, even they contain the controller only, but no CPU, no power supply.

cartft has some, mimo monitors (i have two of them and they work OK), rs components has for sure too, but do not be astonished when you see the price tag of a 'naked' display. I am neither related to any of these companies nor do I have any shares.

As I do not know where you are located, I do have an old one from cartft that I do not use anymore and a USB only from mimo, both however r-touch only.

@danidani While the concept of a smart/magic mirror is nothing new by itself, mentioning it as another way to use existing FIBARO solutions is just a real use case.

While we do not have such products to our official distribution, there are FIBARO partners who use e.g. MUES-TEC products and make them work with FIBARO.

Members of this forum have a lot of great ideas, and if you are following our SM then you probably noticed that some media posts that have been released lately mention that

a given solution/use case was prepared by one of the users.

@drasisautomation did a wonderful job with the provided video - it explains the general idea how such a mirror would look and work. :)

I was interested in this topic once and found out two essential things.
1) If you use a tablet, there is a problem with the brightness required to reflect the reflective film.
2) if you solve enough brightness, the most important part remains: your wife, who curses over the constantly fixed mirror.
And over time, you will stop using the controls completely.

I tried to use a miniature PIR sensor on the bottom of the mirror frame, which wakes the tablet by waving under the frame.

Another tip.
Microwave detectors (can be used "Magic switch" for LED control in conjunction with a plugin for scrolling screens.

eM.
