Smoke Detectors and Toon

Nick Eggington

Question

Hi,

I've purchased three Fibaro smoke detectors which I will connect to the Toon device (controller for central heating used in the Netherlands).

Toon have their own iPhone App but it doesn't show the temperature measured by the Fibaro's, etc.

Can I also use the Fibaro App or won't it work given I've connected the detectors to the Toon.

Many thanks

Nick

Hi Nick,

you cannot use the fibaro app with the toon.  you will need to have a fibaro home center.

if you have a rooted toon and a fibaro homecenter II. i have made a virtual device to control a toon from a home center II.

  • Hi

Excellent, many thanks for the replies!

I'll initially get the basics working and then perhaps fkruis I'll explore a set-up similar to what you have done re the HomeCenter & Toon.

    Cheers

    Nick

    Hi fkruis,

I do have a Toon too, but I can't connect it to my HC2.

How did you do that? What is a rooted Toon?

I hope you can help me on this.

    hi ErnstH,

on the internet you can find the information how to root a toon.

With a rooted toon  you can access the device local  and control it.

here a example  of the virtual device

Please login or register to see this attachment.

i am not sure if more information is allowed

Thanks. Can you share that VD? Or do you know where I can find it (didn't find it on this forum).

By the way, I pay for my Toon and now do have access through domoticz. So nothing illegal on that.
