Need a pulse to operate a gate motor: which Fibaro module?

The motor of the outdoor gate need a pulse to operate (on/off/on not a constant on state).

Which fibaro module/settings is best used to realise this?   Can the pulse lenght be set?

best to use a fibaro relay switch 1x2.5kw

do not use the new '2' version.

you can set the pulse width in the parameter settings. i use them all the time for garage doors and gate motors

wiring diagram

L - Live

N - neutral

IN - this is the volt free contact

Q -  this is the volt free contact

thanks

You can use:Fibaro FGS-222 or FGS-221 as suggest by Morpheus or , if you already have, a FGS-213 or FGS-223 connected with an external dry contact classic relay. Set the AutoOFF time of the FGS-223 switch to 1 sec.

Yup, that's how I did it to and it's working well

  • Thanks for the feedback.

Based on various input i will connect it as follow:

Are there any other parameter which should be different then the standaard values?

    • 3 years later...

    Hello everybody!

I had the same question. Need to open a gate by creating a pulse.
I had it working with an AMU500 (from KAKU), but they fucked
up the inner code on the last update, so now I was looking voor a 2021 solution.

This is why I bought the Fibaro Single Smart module (FGS-214 v5.0).
It has the similar connection points as the drawing from Ronald DeClerck.
Now I try to figure out which wires should go where....

    On my AMU500 (see attach stuurkast met AMU500) I had a L en N for the 230V
and then a wire from gate-pcb to "COM" on the AMU500
and one wire from gate-pcb to SWITCH (sort of fish symbol) on the AMU500.
So 4 in total. (see als attach "AMU500 pulse aansluiting" for example wiring taken from the manual for AMU500).

As I follow the drawing from Ronald, then I can connect the L and N
and then the SWITCH-cable to "Q" on my FGS-214 and the COM-cable to "IN" on my FGS-214 .

Seems logical, but when I have a look at the fibaro manual (see attach Fiabaro wiring manual),
they advice a bridge between "L" and "IN", then there's a wire from Q to "godknowswhere"
and two wires from S1 and S2 to "idontknow"...  Not very explainary....  So as I don't want to destroy my FGS214 in the first seconds, I'd
like to check with you all, for a good advice. Should I try the connection as Ronald describes, or should I try another connection?|

do not connect 'L' to 'IN' as this is supplying 240v to the relay contacts.

ignore the S1 and S2 connections too as this is for external switches

    just use L for Live

    N for Neutral

    In as COM

    Q as pulse switch

then in parameters for auto-off amend to 1 sec

Thanx Morpheus 75 for your swift answer!
Your explanation confirms that I can use the connection that Ronald de Clerck mentioned above.
    That's one insecurity less!

But I'm struggling with the raw parameters that I have to input in the Fibaro-smartmodule app that I use within my Homey-controller.
Unfortunately I don't have a Fibaro-controller, so the app asks me to put in "Raw configuration parameters".
    This must be given in a certain parameter-format: id, size, value; id, size, value;

As the gate only needs a pulse to activate the opening or closing of the gate, I presume that the setting must be NO (normally open)
and that the contact only is closed during activiting the movement.

So I need parameters for :
    - Normally Open
    - pulse signal
    - duration 1 second

Not sure if you can help me with this, but one can always try!
    Thanx in advance!
