Virtual module?

I read on www.domotique-fibaro.fr that some users instal some virtual module. 

Anyone has any idea how to install that VD?

 

Will be great to use as a power declare for modules that use contactors for big load.

I do not know the virtual device but there is a zip-file to download. Unpack it and import it in the device panel on your Homecenter2.

Would be good to make virtual switches for some internal actions. For example, to easy switch global variables athome/away etc etc

If someone still have the plugin, share please

Plugin is available, but don’t know how to install.

1 - I'm not sure, if this plugin is still working, since it has been developed the API has been changed lot of times, you will have to ask @Krikroff who developed it

 

2 - installation is actually easy, i will check with Fibaro if i can post my "Plugin Installer VD" (which makes installation and updates easy). Even without my "Plugin Installer VD", you can use "postman" Applikation (the way how to use it has been posted multiple times here in Forum but as well on that french forum)

 

3 - custom plugins will get deleted after each HC2 update, so you have to reinstall them (that why i wrote VD for that)

 

4 - there is no afaik no way to backup / restore configuration of custom plugin, so once it has been deleted during fw update and reinstalled, one have to configure it once again. Normally no big deal (to enter some user/pass/IP if necessary for custom plugins), the problem starts with scenes (as the ID of the plugin is different). But for that one can use following at the begin of each scene using a specific custom plugin (and in scenes simply make use of the "pluginID") , let say my systeminfo plugin:

The only disadvantage, having more than one of exact the same plugin (or multiple devices connected to e.g. custom sonos plugin), only one pluginID will be valid.

Admin has deleted my old posts on plugins. 

 

I now have a couple that are very useful but Fibaro just don't appear to want one of he best features they ever built to live.

 

If anyone wants to have a go at developing their own happy to share what I know.

 

Now I have found it 

 

 

 

The only other thing that I would add.

 

Make sure you trust who gave you the plugin. The framework is very powerful and you could easily break your HC2 or give somebody else control of it.

I have a virtual device for changing a global variable. I can choose between three values that are picked up by a scene to raise or lower temperature in my shed. It can easily be expended to more variables and values. Is that what you are looking for?

Probably but it is a plugin from 2014 with a lot of warnings from the creator. It has not been updated and apparently only works with the Homecenter firmware from that period of time. I would definitely not encourage anybody to install such old beta plugins.
