I just set up a Home Center 2 and used my iPhone and iPad to test everything all along the way. Once I learned what the limitations to the system are and how to work around some of them I thought I was ready to hand it over to the customer. My customer has Android phones so I thought I should test everything with my Android phone as well as become familiar with the subtle app differences, as there usually are a few. That's where the problems began. Scenes that ran flawlessly when executed from my iOS devices or windows computer all of a sudden seem to freeze the Home Center 2 entirely and don't allow you to do anything except power cycle the device. Scenes that run when started in iOS regardless if the alarm was sounding off or not, now won't run from the Android if the system is in the state of alarm (sirens sounding after a zone is breached once armed). And once I start to run a scene from the Android device and get the warning that scenes cannot be run when in the state of alarm, those same scenes that worked flawlessly regardless of alarm state fifteen minutes ago on my iOS devices not won't run from my iPhone or iPad either. Frustrating...

Hi guys! recently I bought a fibaro hc2. there was said to me that I can develop my own plugins. But I can't find any documentation for it... (the http://developer.fibaro.com) isn't existing anymore only it redirects me to the Rest API section and Lua documentation I really wanted to build a plugin so that the devices of Plugwise "http://plugwise.com" are compatible with the fibaro. (i know that it is possible) Hope that some of you can help me. and have documentation or something else where I can work with Kind regards, pepijn dik

Today i updated to v. 4.02 for my Fibaro HC2. The update log recommended a reinstallation of the Logitech Harmony Plugin. When i installed the Plugin again via the very smart code-authentication it says on the plugin info: As I understand from the text above it should be possible to make a Scene in HC2 and include a Logitech Harmony Activity? As an example, I have a scene in HC2 called "Leaving Home", and when I press it the lights shuts down and in that scene I also want to shut down my Tv using the Harmony Acitivity. But when i trying to add a scene i can't choose the Activity from my Logitech even tough the activity (Acitivity Digital-Tv in the image attached) is visible in the HC2 panel in the web interface. Does anybody know how to add an Logitech Harmony Acitivity in a HC2 Scene? Thanks in advance! C.

Hi! I have a Home Center LITE (without LUA support) and I am trying the creat a Virtual Device that can control my Synology NAS music player (AudioStation). It has a good webapi kit, that I can use with HTTP commands, but can't solve it. For example my ip addresses: - Fibaro HCL: 192.168.1.10 - NAS: 192.168.1.20:5000 - NAS l/p: admin:admin This is 3 command to the NAS (login / start music / pause music / etc.): LOGIN: http://192.168.1.20:5000/webapi/auth.cgi?api=SYNO.API.Auth&method=Login&version=1&account=admin&passwd=admin START MUSIC: http://192.168.1.20:5000/webapi/AudioStation/remote_player.cgi?api=SYNO.AudioStation.RemotePlayer&method=control&action=play&id=__SYNO_USB_PLAYER__&version=2 PAUSE MUSIC: http://192.168.1.20:5000/webapi/AudioStation/remote_player.cgi?api=SYNO.AudioStation.RemotePlayer&method=control&action=play&id=__SYNO_USB_PLAYER__&version=2 I can transform to GET HTTP request as a virtual device button, but doesn't work (e.g.. Pause): GET /webapi/AudioStation/remote_player.cgi?api=SYNO.AudioStation.RemotePlayer&method=control&action=pause&id=__SYNO_USB_PLAYER__&version=2 HTTP/1.1 Host: 192.168.1.20:5000 Authorization: Basic admin:admin(Base64EncodedForm) I think it is ok, but what about Virtual Device advanced settings fields? - Name - Room - IP Address - TCP Port Is these IP Address and TCP Port the HCL's address or NAS's address? Don't working nether Can somebody help me, I fell I am so close! Thanks, Balage

Hi all, I’m trying to wire a Guardline Driveway Motion sensor’s output to a Fibaro Universal sensor, and wondered if anyone who’d done it before could help me out please? My idea for how to do it is below, the colours i’ve used have no relevance to the coloured cables of Fibaro. Top is the Fibaro and bottom the Guardline device. What do you think?

Hi there, I have an Aotec HEM clamp in my fuse box, which measures the total consumption of the house. On the Home Center 2 (Tab Consumption ---> Energy Panel), this data appears as "Current Power" (Potencia Actual) and I can see the graphs for days, months, years. However, I can not export the data in an Excel. I click the buttom "Export" and nothing is downloaded. When I do the same with the rest of the measurements (ex. blind 1,2...), an Excel csv is downloaded. Does anyone know why this happens? Does anyone know how I can download this data? Thank you in advance.

I can understand why users can get upset with Fibaro. I had my share of frustration with my HC2 as well. But at the end, when I look back, in past year playing with it I feel that it gave me more nice moments than bad ones. I always liked developing even I left that job for another. Making my home smarter every day gives me great satisfaction and occasional problems can't destroy that. As far as I know there is no other Fibaro forums except French one and this international one. Fibaro UK has a link to forum, this one. I believe that forums are as good as users are, since forums are made for users to help each other and not to be official support. So, as long as there are experienced users on this forum ready to help others its goal is fulfilled. I can check if there is some other forum for home automation, but that will be then general one where is not only Fibaro but everything else discussed. But I believe that we don't need to look around. This forum has experienced users that are always ready to help and when somebody get into difficult problems with his HC then help should be requested from both official support and this forum alike. To be honest, this box is not TV or refrigerator, and many people will have problems with it, either because they are not willing to put some more effort to first learn things or they are expecting that merely just buying it will make their house smart. Unfortunately with Fibaro HC that is not the case, especially with HC2. This system can give a lot, but it requires also a lot from its users, especially knowledge of wireless systems, electrical stuff and at least some basic knowledge in programming rules and good habits. So you see, this system is not for everyone, it is only for those people who like learning, or like technical stuff and have at least basic knowledge. I mean ti is much more than buying new TV and program channels on it! HomeKit is for everyone! Simple, easy to install, easy to configure since there is no much to configure anyway Apple philosophy, strip everything away, close system as much as you can so that users just can't change anything and therefore can't *abuse* up anything That is the best choice for many people, but for geeks and people who like challenges Fibaro is the best choice that can be found on market today!

This is my first topic in a series of post I'm going to write about the advanced LUA scenes I wrote for my home automation project. My goal is not flipping a light scene with a phone but for 90% autonome home automation. Besides posting LUA code I give you more insight why I came to this routine. It may help you with designing your own automation routines. Disclaimer: I am not a professional programmer and I post the scenes as is. I have no time to make the LUA scenes generic like other great members do on this forum. I just post my LUA code to share knowlegde and inspire you to create awesome things! Advanced home wake-up routine with Philips Hue and HC2 Applies to: Fibaro Home Center 2 and Philips HUE bridge. GOALS Use my Philips Hue led strips as a wake-up light. Use 1 app to schedule the whole home wake-up routine. Start the morning routine when walking downstairs (check motion). Turn on the lights only when it’s dark (read lux). In our bedroom we integrated a Philips Hue lightstrip in the ceiling and use this with the Philips Hue app as a wake-up light. It beautifully fakes a sunrise in our whole room. As we use the Hue app to set our wake-up alarm I use this app to trigger the Home Center to run a wake-up routine for the rest of the house. TL;DR Set recurring wake-up schedule in the Philips Hue app. Home Center LUA scene 1 reads schedules at 04:00 with the keyword Wake in it. If schedule is set for today and motion is detected at the hallway after the scheduled time (scene 2), run wake-up routine. HOW I IMPLEMENTED IT IN WORDS Reading Hue schedules from the bridge cannot be done with the Fibaro Hue plug-in. Therefore I wrote a LUA scene to read the Hue schedules from the Hue bridge and run the wake-up routine at the schedules wake-up time. I achieved this with 2 LUA scenes: Scene 1 runs every minute and polls the Hue bridge schedules at 04:00. If a wake-up is scheduled for today write the wake-up times to a global variable. Every minute it checks if there is a wake-up planned by reading the same global variable and if so it sets the WakeUpReady global variable to 1. Scene 2 runs when motion detected by a Fibaro Motion Sensor. If it detects motion it checks if the global variable WakeUpReady is set to 1 and runs the wake-up routine. SCENE 1 EXPLAINED You can download the full LUA scenes at the bottom of this post. I only describe snippets of my code to make you understand what it does and show the challenges I ran into. TAG YOUR HUE SCHEDULE WITH A WAKE-UP STRING IN IT! To know which schedules are used for wake-up I set all those schedules with the Wake keyword in it. Like Wake-up weekday’s and Wake-up weekends. In the LUA scene I find these schedules with the code: if name:find('Wake') and status == 'enabled' then ... end RECURRING DAY’S ARE SAVED AS A BITMASK IN THE HUE BRIDGE The Hue API states: The Hue bridge saves the recurring day’s as a bitmask. You have to convert this bitmask to weekday’s. So you can check if the alarm is set for today. The first step is to convert decimal to a binary. I did this with the folowing LUA function: function bin(dec) local result = "" repeat local divres = dec / 2 local int, frac = math.modf(divres) dec = int result = math.ceil(frac) .. result until dec == 0 local StrNumber StrNumber = string.format(result, "s") local nbZero nbZero = 8 - string.len(StrNumber) local Sresult Sresult = string.rep("0", nbZero)..StrNumber return Sresult end Then I have a binary representation of the scheduled weekday’s. For example: mo tu we th fr sa su 1 1 1 1 0 1 0 You see the alarm is set for monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday and saturday. With this I can determine if the alarm is set for today: if name:find('Wake') and status == 'enabled' then local huedays, huetime = string.match(timepattern, 'W(.*)/T(.*)') -- Hue starts at monday, LUA starts at sunday, so I have to fix this. local dayofweek = os.date("*t").wday-1 if dayofweek == 0 then dayofweek = 7 end local scheduleddays = bin(huedays) -- dayofweek+1 because a week is 7 days and binary is 8 digits, so -- a have a pre 0 local waketoday = string.sub(scheduleddays, dayofweek+1, dayofweek+1) if waketoday == '1' then wakeUpAlarms = wakeUpAlarms .. huetime:sub(1, -4) .. '|' end ... end WRITE WAKE-UP TIME TO GLOBAL VARIABLE If there is an alarm schedule for today write it to a global variable for later use: if wakeUpAlarms ~= '' then fibaro:setGlobal("WakeUpTime", wakeUpAlarms:sub(1, -2)) -- remove last | else -- If no schedules are set, write disabled to the global variable. fibaro:setGlobal("WakeUpTime", "disabled") end SET WAKEUPREADY GLOBAL VARIABLE FOR MOTION SENSOR LUA SCENE The LUA scene runs every minute using the code: setTimeout(tempFunc, 60*1000) At 04:00 it checks the schedules in the Hue bridge, but every minute it checks the WakeUpTime global variable to set the wakeupReady global variable to 1. This variable triggers the second LUA scene used by the motion sensor. local wakeupTime = fibaro:getGlobal("WakeUpTime") if wakeupTime ~= "disabled" then local waketimes = {} for match in (wakeupTime..'|'):gmatch("(.-)"..'|') do table.insert(waketimes, match); end for k, v in pairs(waketimes) do if os.date("%H:%M") == v then fibaro:setGlobal("WakeUpReady", 1) fibaro:debug("It's wake-up time! Set motion detector ready!") end end end SCENE 2 EXPLAINED (MOTION SENSOR PART) With scene 1 I created a global variable setting to determine if the wake-up routine must run. Now I create a second scene to act if there is motion in our hallway. CHECK FOR MOTION AND IF ALARM IS NOT ARMED First I want to check if there is motion and if the alarm is not armed with the line: if tonumber(fibaro:getValue(158, "value")) > 0 and tonumber(fibaro:getValue(158, "armed")) == 0 then ... RUN WAKE-UP ROUTINE ONLY IF IT’S DARK OUTSIDE The Philips Hue wake-up schedule runs always because our bedroom had curtains and the room is always dark. Downstairs I only want to run the wake-up routine when it’s dark outside. The wakeupReady global variable check’s if the routine needs to run when there is motion (set with scene 1). The line below gets the current lux reading from the Fibaro motion sensor: fibaro:getValue(160, "value") If the illuminance is below 20 I want to turn on my lights. if wakeupReady == "1" then fibaro:setGlobal("WakeUpReady", 0) -- Disable trigger for current wake-up time. -- check lux local currentLux = tonumber(fibaro:getValue(160, "value")) -- id 160 is sensors light device. -- If it's dark then start wake-up routine if currentLux < 20 then fibaro:debug("Illuminance measuring " .. currentLux .. " lx, starting wake-up routine.") fibaro:call(44, "setValue", "8") -- Spots keuken (8%) fibaro:call(29, "setValue", "5") -- Tafel eethoek (5%) fibaro:call(106 , "turnOn") -- Bolles (aan) fibaro:call(118 , "turnOn") -- Spot voordeur (aan) fibaro:call(156, "sendPush", "Started wake-up routine. Debug: " .. currentLux .. " lx") else fibaro:debug("Illuminance measuring " .. currentLux .. " lx, do nothing.") end ... DOWNLOAD MY SCENES COMPLETE LUA CODE You can download the full LUA scene code from GitHub: Scene 1: Wakeup.lua Scene 2: MotionRoutine1.lua You have to change the device id’s from my motion sensors in this scene to your own id’s! And don't forget to set the scenes to run automatic in the Fibaro Home Center 2

Dimmer 2 fails to control my MLV LED Driver. I only get the constant red menu light. I cycled through the menu and reset the device. When at the blue light, I let it autocalibrate, but it always results in a constant red. My driver is the Magnitude M150L24DC-AR. It is an MLV Triac magnetic transformer that is 150W capable, but is not driving more than 110W in my appliaction. Is there a compatibility problem with Dimmer 2 and this driver? Hi, I have Fibaro HC2 and google home. I connected them together. Lights works fine, but i dont know how to control the blinds / curtains. I had a look at https://manuals.fibaro.com/knowledge-base-browse/gh-commands-list/ This does not cover anything for blind / curtain. Any pointers on how this can be controlled? Whatever i try Fibaro agent keep on asking "which device"? I tried "Switch On ...", Open <device> but none of them seem to work. Regards, Vijay

Anyone used these for more then temperature and door bell yet? The 1-wire techonolgy could be applied for more then temperature, so it should be possible in theory to have other input with 1-wire. I was looking for sound sensor for my Fibaro HC2 and came across the UBS. I am not good in programming, so need to find someone that have done projects and want to share. It would be great to have light sensor, sound, PIR and other trough the 1-wire. I also found some paper about someone having a thesis in medical engineering about simulation of 1-wire sensors. The aim of this project is to program the microprocessor (Arduino) by using Arduino programming language to work as a temperature sensor type DS18B20 and also as a slave on the 1-Wire bus system. If you could get an Arduino to simulate 1-wire then the potensial could be huge in implementing things to the Fibaro.

Hello Everyone. I have what I consider a pretty typical setup. A nest and FIbaro lights and smokes. Pretty basic 10 circuits, nothing special happening here. While I think the Fibaro app is pretty decent, I wanted something I little more focused and polished for me. So, I have built a Android and IOS app which is modelled on the look and feel of the Savant app: https://www.savant.com/product/savant-app The app is fully working, just need a visual improvement - but it looks decent already. Its a side project - so dev will happen when i have time. I never planned on realising this in the wild, but a few people who have seen it love it - so thinking about submitting to relevant stores. Its boring features are: - Picks up weather and such like - Pick up NEST information (via Fibaro home centre or home centre lite) - Get all relevant devices from the system - Allows you to input your IP / user / pass (and saves) to allow connectivity to the home centre / lite (can use dyndns for those not on static IPs at home) - Runs via HTTP - so will work inside and outside the home. (use local IP on the internal only devices) The more interesting features are: - Allows you to (So much easier than Fibaro) create scenes on the app - in a lovely interface. - Will sync all settings of the scenes with either the Fibaro box, or Dropbox (or similar) - Might make it control the Nest also and other device types which fit within the focus of the app & alerts - Keeps the device alive if desired (prevent screen off) What im looking to do: - Get some flush wall mounts of ipad Minis / Andriod tabs made up (using 3D printers to keep costs low) - Have these as wall mounted control centres - keep the cost very low. - Allow people to re-use these old devices - rather than capture dust in a draw. Is there much appetite for such stuff in this community? If so ill look to finish it up and develop. Ill probably put it up as a paid app, mainly to cover costs and support / continious development. I will stress this is not a replacement for the Fibaro app - its just more focused and beautiful.

I've been doing a bit of reading on what was reported in march and mentioned by some users on this forum about a product between qnap and fibaro and it's got me thinking and very interested/excited ... Much of the hardware that many hubs are built on are really nothing special and most also run some linux distribution the core. As a result they are very much a commodity product. We have also seen the migration of CCTV / dvr systems to NAS devices (synology surveillance center) . Many NAS can now act as a router /modem/dhcp server/webservers with the addition of simpie dongles. We have also seen many HA solutions that run on on a PI, etc and some even on NAS, so it's not surprising fibaro are moving in this direction as well. It also allows them to expand beyond zwave into something like zigbee as it just requires a second dongle. This would be a very god move as systems that span multiple wireless platform offer the end user many more devices to interact with. Migrating their HA platform to a NAS also gives them access to what is stored on the NAS, music, movies, security footage as well as proving almost end diskspace to store data on. A NAS based solution would also offer the ability to mirror the HA platform or create a master /slave setup in the case of a disk/platform failure. You could even store previous running versions that could be switched in and out more easily (as opposed to a back/up restore solution). It would also be a easy way to resolve the much maligned backup/recovery solution currently employed by the HC2. Finally it would also open the possibility to run external bridges such as the HA bridge or sonos-http-api on all the same hardware with the benefits this would bring, through the use of node.js and perhaps even docker. There was references made to two qnap devices but nether come cheap TDS-16489U, (enterprise level ) - https://www.qnap.com/en/product/model.php?II=209 - approx 8k euro TS-453Bmini.(consumer level) - https://www.qnap.com/en/product/model.php?II=262 - approx 500 euro (with no drives), similar price to HC2 links to some articles if you're interested in reading Consumer IT - http://www.consumerit.eu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3357:fibaro-teams-up-with-qnap&catid=25&Itemid=100021 Inside CI - http://www.insideci.co.uk/news/fibaro-partners-with-qnap-for-smart-home-solutions.aspx QNAP - https://qiot.qnap.com/blog/en/2017/03/23/qnap-starts-cooperation-fibaro-providing-feature-packed-hub-smart-home-systems/ Prowly - https://prowly.com/14228-fibaro-begins-cooperation-with-qnap Short Video - This move may very well be the start of fibaro moving away from proprietary hardware completely. It could also see the rise of the once humble NAS being elevated to the much talked about (but never fully realised) multipurpose home hub. It will be very interested in seeing how far fibaro will take the many integration possibilities and opportunities. Looking forward to it being released and seeing its capbilities _f

Hello, I have purchased an aeotec Siren, gen5, https://aeotec.com/z-wave-siren. After some difficulty i managed to pair it with my fibaro hc-lite. For those who need help with that, it wouldnt get detected and i had to try a few times, after holding down the button for over 30seconds, the light stayed on and for a few seconds (probably did some sort of factory reset), then i clicked the button again and it paired quickly. However, it paired as a switch, on and off. Does not allow me to have special settings ect. Under the advanced settings there are some things you can do with the siren, like change the tone or the sounds level ect, howevere would be nice if you could change the tones based on certain scenes? Has anyone figured that part out? Thanks,

Sending serial commands to Global Cache iTach Flex (RS232/RS485)
jakub.jezek posted a question in Home Center 2
Hello guys, I ran into interesting problem. Honestly i do not know if problem is in Fibaro or Global Cache, so i need some help. Ticket in partners dedicated channel: #95470. I'm doing VD for a customer (Fibaro dealer) for control of Somfy RTS module (VD is below). But i'm able to receive only 8 comands, then it seems like connection get stucked. If i send commands from iTest (global cache app), that i am not a problem to receive more than 8 commands. If i send commands from Fibaro to PC directly (Hercules app can be set as TCP server), then i'm able receive more than 8 commands (Same port and protocol, just diffrent IP adress). I'm sending those serial commands (RS-232/RS-485) to my Laptop to application Hercules (Link below). Global Cache i'm using is iTach Flex IP. Cables connected are Flex Link RS-232 cable and Flex Link RS-485 cable. I tested it with both. As RS-485 to USB converter i'm using something like that: http://www.rockonpro.pl/monacor-da-70157 or this one (rs-232) http://www.aten.com/global/en/products/usb-&-thunderbolt/usb-converters/uc232a/#.WWNf3ulpzg4 @T.Konopka or @M.Baranowski, can you look at this one please? Hello, I would like to control the QNAP disk storage via HC2. QNAP I use to play movies on TV, so it does not make sense to run when no one is at home. I could turn it off with a socket, but it would not prove to be a HDD. In a FIBARO is a module "WakeOnLan". Did you set it up in collaboration with QNAP? Turning on after coming home and turning off after leaving? Thanks!
