  1. I finally stumbled with my HC2 and I'm very unhappy at the moment. Now I can finally understand most of the users here on forum why they cry, curse and show discontent. So here is my short story: HC2 with FW 4.080 with installed 255 devices, 49 scenes in 24 rooms. I happily added my first Fibaro swipe and after that decided to make backup just in case. Backup is made but after that I noticed that HC started deleting devices. I wrote down devices ID that appeared in that small event log dialog on the top of the page and when finished compared with my list. At first it looked ok because all deleted devices ID actually was not on the list. But after refreshing 'Your House' page I noticed that some devices are missing. I compared with my list that I made in excel and found out that is missing 55 devices of which most are smart plugs, two of six roller shutters, some of the motion sensors, some of the door/window sensors, all three flood sensors, all three fire sensors, two relay modules. There is no logic in this unfortunate event, at least none that I can see, because deleted sensors and modules are equally near or far from the control center, also many are not battery operated but connected to the power like roller shutters, relays, smart plugs! Before making backup I noticed that my battery operated Vision siren is showing dead and could not wake it up, but I thought that this is because of weak batteries. Is it possible that one dead device can make such damage and delete so many other devices? Some kind of explanation would be nice to know, but nevertheless, this kind of unfortunate event should not happen anyway. Now even if I somehow reconnect deleted devices I will always be afraid to make another backup. And when we loose confidence we all know that there is never happy ending. If there is anyone out there that had same experience and manage to solve it I will be more than thankful if he/she share his/her knowledge here. I don't expect any help or answer from Fibaro because toy makers do not have or need to give support
  2. I understand that the plugin in HC2 is only to enable manual control of lights from the HC2 and from the Fibaro App. Are there any other ways I could include one or more hue lights into scenes? Any coding? Anything else before I have to throw a large investment I made in hue lights or instead the Fibaro one? Many thanks for your support.
  3. hi all i have created a basic website that is basically a database of LUA code. Some is simple stuff and others a bit more complex. All of it i have tried to put into alphabetical order. At the moment it contains mostly the code i have used and there is a contact me page so that other members can send me code and i can add to this library. Also on there is a section for Virtual Devices, with download links and links back to the thread on this forum. im hoping that this should make finding LUA code easier and also the VD downloads a bit more accessible. thanks the link is: http://www.yorkshireautomation.co.uk/lua
  4. Hello the info is quite limited to control Nest from Fibaro HC2. The plugin is pretty useless. I have the Gen 3 stat and there was no 'actions' available so basically couldnt do anything with the plugin. So after doing some reading i came across this thread by mrtn: http://forum.fibaro.com/index.php?/topic/20367-nest-thermostat-setting-temperature-in-lua/?hl=%2Bnest+%2Bthermostat i modified this to my needs and came up with the following code below. Here is a short youtube demo of it: https://youtu.be/zMqbZRgXUhY I have decided to use just the aesthetics of the thermostat instead of the learning part of it, but all would work just fine regardless. enjoy! --[[ %% properties %% globals temp --]] local param1 = fibaro:getGlobal("temp") -- the variable that has been created local key = "XXXXXXXXXXXX" -- your key from the Maker channel on IFTTT local event = 'temp' -- name of the trigger you created in the Maker channel function PushData(key, event, param1) local httpClient = net.HTTPClient({ timeout = 2000 }); local url = 'https://maker.ifttt.com/trigger/'..event..'/with/key/'..key..'?value1='..param1; --debug url print(url); httpClient:request(url, { success = function(response) if tonumber(response.status) == 200 then print("Updated at " .. os.date()); else print("Error " .. response.status) end end, error = function(err) print('error = ' .. err) end, options = { method = 'GET' } }); end PushData(key, event, param1);
  5. i thought i would share a little VD i made coz i am a bit lazy when it comes to my Sonos. i created some playlists and saved them as .m3u files and each one is about an hour long. i then created a VD to select my speaker and then i sent the playlist path to it, set the initial volume and it just plays it all and turns off. No other input is required. you can pause/unpause and stop if required and adjust volume if needed. This VD requires the krikroff VD and sonos remote to work properly. to make it easier here is a short video : https://youtu.be/s8FPiVFa-gU and the VD is attached. Playlist_Selector.vfib
  6. Hey guys, I have some simple LUA Scenes that simply don't work unless I manually click RUN. Any help would be appreciated. Secondly, this "Goodnight" scene, breifly turns ON the lights, before turning them off??? I also have to manually run it twice before it updates the variable? The all lights OFF scene works perfectly by itself. I have a feeling I'm missing some basic understanding, thank you for your help. Jamie
  7. i configured Danalock on HC2 but the notification panel inform that the device without template and it is not response could you please support
  8. If I want to learn or delete any z-wave device Access Forbidden Please kindly support I use administration login
  9. Could you please support the fibaro motion sensors read 692lux while the room is dark It can detect the motion but it read high light intensity while the room is dark and not responded for changing light intensity
  10. what is wake up interval? and what is the best value of it? i have fibaro motion sensor and it is not response because it is waiting for wakeup and also i cant modify the wakeup interval
  11. what is Devices polling time interval and how can i calculate it the best value?
  12. Hi everyone I want to start a complaint about the Qubino flush relay's still not supported by Fibaro. Still templates are not available for these modules. I do not know why Fibaro still are not supporting these modules but to my opninion they should starting supporting these by now. Especially keeping in mind all other brands are supported much better. I did sent templates to Fibaro several times. A lot of customer have these units, probably because they support energy metering. So Fibaro, what's goinig on here? Please reply so we have as many as qustumers possible to put some pressure in Fibaro!
  14. - HC2 version 4.056, from Belgium, is support z-wave US with 908.42 MHz or not??? - I can't add the Aeotec Multisensor Gen5, Model : ZW074-A with 908.42 MHz (US version) to my HC2. Nothing happen after trying so many times. How to make it work together? Sarawut
  15. I wonder if there is any plans on expanding the functionality of the virtual device in Fibaro HC2. As it works now it´s most suitable to use for controlling some other device with buttons, slider etc, and if you want to display data from another device all you can use is the label. My wish is that you should be able to choose the type of the virtual device. For example, if you want it to appear as a thermometer or humidity device, and be able to set the value of this device via http api and lua. This would open up the possibility to add virtual devices that gets updated via for example node-red or http from other sources. And in the user interface they will show up as a "common" sensor. That would be really nice. I think this functionality would make the platform more attractive for many people, and open up the integration between different protocols and vendors. Is it just me or is anybody else missing this functionality?
  16. Fibaro Prosimy o umożliwienie budowania własnej biblioteki funkcji zapisywanej na backup'owym pendrive a ładowanej do pamięci podczas startu HC2. Myślę że wielu z nas użytkowników posiada wiele takich zdublowanych funkcji w scenach i VD. Zoptymalizowałoby to zarządzanie pamięcią i wydajnością systemu. To taka świąteczna prośba.....
  17. Last week I got 2 x FGD212 dimmers, 3 x Popp 123850 plug dimmers and 1 x WallC-S2 wall controller. Before I received the HC2, I used the wall controller as primary controller on all 5 dimmers, both dimming and on/off worked like it was supposed to, with buttons 1 and 3. Now I've set up the HC2, with the wall controller as a second controller, working with the Popp dimmers through association, still with buttons 1 and 3, and have no problem what so ever. I'm still able to dim and switching on/off. Inclusion of the FGD212 dimmers went smoothly, and they can be controlled from HC2, even from within scenes triggered by the wall controller. What I can't do, is use the "Switch On/Off and Dim (send Basic Set and Switch Multilevel)" I currently have working with the Popp dimmers, with the FGD212s. I've associated them in the same manner as the ones working, but get no feedback from the FGD212s. I have searched all over for similar problems, but can't seem to find anything. Is it a parameter that needs to be altered to get it working like it was without the HC2? Any help is appreciated! PS: As of now I'm using HC2 ver. 4.058 beta, but I've also tried 4.057 beta and 4.056.
  18. Hi! For several weeks I own a HC2 and now I am playing around a little bit in my workshop trying to learn LUA and the whole Z-Wave thing. I noticed that the HC2 getts pretty warm, so I pimped it a little bit according to this (german) thread http://siio.de/board/thema/pimp-my-hc2 The HC2 is in a steelbox with slots for fresh air in top and bottom. I lifted up the two outer metal plates for about 5mm and removed the inner slot to get more air flow. Now the HC2 temp is about 12 °C higher than the environment temperature, but is IMHO still too high (~ 40°C -- temp. probe is locatet on top of HC2 - take a look at 1st picture) TOP: HC2 temperature TOP: temperature of environment Do you have similar experiences or maybe a solution ? Any suggestions are appreciated
  19. Hello there. I mafe new programs for RGBW, and when i am trying to activate them i got error on HC2 saying: [14:06:20] COMMAND_FIRMWARE_UPDATE MD STATUS_REPORT: NodeID: Any ideas? Already did complete reconfigure, then reset and restore from backup. same *. thanks
  20. Hi, Can someone explain to me how to correctly set-up a HCL as a secondary controller. I have a large house and noticed that some of the devices which are farthest from my HC2 have connectivity issues so i bought a HCL when i heard i could use it as a sort of range extender. Both of the devices are connected to my LAN and i have their IP adresses. I have fiddled around with it and now see the HCL as a Slave device in my HC2 settings => Gateways Connections. However i have no idea how to check if it is now working? I also noticed the functionality: add secondary controller controller transfer broadcast node information frame. Do i need to use any of these. Both controllers are on 4.057 beta. Thanks! Florian
  21. When looking around at compatibility lists on the net they often refer to HCL or HC2 4.x. If I am running a HCL with 4.x should that be fully compatible with modules for HC2 4.x? Is there something in the support for modules that differ from HC2 and HCL on the same firmware? /Anders
  22. To everyone who currently has Fibaro HC 2 i just have a few questions: Are you happy with the product? What issues do you have with it? Do you get any lags or whereby scenes or devices do not respond to commands? We are currently building a new house and got a quote of 120K (in South African Rand, which in USD works out to around $12000) for the following products: Description Quantity FIBARO Relay Insert 2 * 1.5 KW 90 FIBARO Relay Insert 1 * 2.5 KW 31 FIBARO Motion Sensor 10 FIBARO Flood Sensor 2 FIBARO Smoke detector 3 iTach Flex WiFi 6 iTach Flex Link 6 Blaster Cable 6 FIBARO Door- and Window Sensor 10 FIBARO Z-Wave Home Center 2 1 Before spending that much I want some real reviews of the product and real life experiences. In my country (SA) there is very little support and nowhere I can go to view the products. Appreciate all feedback Thanks
  23. Hi, Everyone , how it's possible i add my VERAEDGE as a secondary Z-wave gateway or Z-wave range extender , I tried to add VERA in my Z-wave network by "Copy Z-Wave network from a primary controller" and add new device in HC2, it's working , but after that ,i can't add any z-wave device in HC2 (latest Firmware version) , so i guess i need to program LUA and IP , would you please help me how i can do that, i do appreciate for quick response
  24. Hi all, I just joined the forum, although I'm following it from a bit of time. I would install in my home a controller for automation and would be interested in HC2, discarding other products and sw typical of DIY, even if surely much more flexible (definitely require much more time to be online). I would like to make a flexible controller to manage the energy produced by the photovoltaic, managing the individual loads so as to perform time shifting, or the separation of secondary loads. I also want to keep track of all the historical consumption, (possibly saving the recordings on an log in xml or external db sql server) of energy produced and sent into the grid. Would be nice also have a charts for lookup the state and historical data It 'a possible solution using the HC2 in combination with energy meters (eg AEON LABS 3 phase that can read the energy injected and withdrawn from/to) grid and necessary actuators? The grid supply it's 3 phase+neutral. Some load are 3 phase other 1+neutral. Kind regards.
  25. When do I use the following code in lua:? tcpSocket:disconnect(); i some sample code it has been added to the sample in others not. example: -- Volume 40dB -- tcpSocket:write("MV40".."\r") fibaro:sleep(500); result, err = tcpSocket:read(); tcpSocket:disconnect(); if (err == 0) then fibaro:log("transfer OK"); fibaro:debug("transfer OK"); else fibaro:log("transfer failed"); fibaro:debug("transfer failed"); end ------------------------------------ -- HERE its not been used -- tcpSocket:write(string.char(0x53, 0x49, 0x49, 0x52, 0x41, 0x44, 0x49, 0x4f, 0x0d)); fibaro:sleep(1000); result, err = tcpSocket:read(); if (err == 0) then fibaro:log("Transfer OK: Internet Radio"); else fibaro:log("Transfer failed: extra check"); -- check source: needs 2 times... otherwise still failed... tcpSocket:write(string.char(0x53, 0x49, 0x3f, 0x0d)); fibaro:sleep(500); result, err = tcpSocket:read(); tcpSocket:write(string.char(0x53, 0x49, 0x3f, 0x0d)); fibaro:sleep(500); result, err = tcpSocket:read(); if (err == 0) then if ( trim(string.sub(result, 1, string.len(result)-9)) == 'SIIRADIO' ) then fibaro:log("Transfer OK: Internet Radio"); else fibaro:log("Transfer failed"); end else fibaro:log("Transfer failed"); end end
