  3. Hi, My sons want some multicolour LED strips in their bedrooms (ideally with a kind of sound-to-light function that responds to their music). Like all teenagers they live with their phones (1 Android 1 Apple) within reach so controlling scenes, etc. will be through those, however we're also needing to be able to turn them on/off & dim through a switch on the wall. Since I'm building a system for the house based on a Fibaro HC2, I'm currently looking at a Fibaro RGBW controller (<£50) with a generic strip, e.g. like this one <£35 for 5m: https://www.ultraleds.co.uk/cct-colour-temperature-adjustable-2000-lumes-120-led-strip-light-24v-dc-18w-2700k-6500k-5-metre-reel.html I'm just wondering how I can meet the other expectations, specifically an app for control and something that makes it pulse according to music. Is there anything that works with Fibaro? Does it go through the HC2 or could an app work directly with the Fibaro RGBW module? I understand anotehr option would be to go with a Philips Hue strip, but then... - It would get quite expensive ~£125 for 5m plus I'd need a bridge between that and the Fibaro HC2 (~£50) - I'm not sure about how the wall switch would work - would it be a Hue battery wall switch that would communicate to the HC2 via the Philips bridge? Is that slow? Or could it be a Fibaro dimmer behind a regular switch? - as far as I can see there is a more limited selection of music apps for Android? Alternatively there's Aeotec LED strip, but - I'm not sure how well that plays with Fibaro HC2, or if there are any apps that can control music? - also expensive at ~£150 Any tips/experience greatly appreciated
  4. hello all i have a little project that i am trying to do. I have a philips hue which works well, and the plugin works well aswell. i also have a Kodi media centre and can get the Kodi to interact with the hue and create the ambilight effect. i also have fibaro rgbw module connected to some rgbw spotlights and would like to know of a way to 'read' the colour from the hue and send that to the rgbw spotlights? or even read the colour directly from kodi and send to spot lights? i would like to create the full room ambilight effect. i know i can just put phillips hue spots instead but that would need a re-wire, so looking for an alternative solution in the interim. thanks
