  1. Hello, I found a project who reverse engineered the Wi-Fi protocol from the Mertik controller connected to my fireplace. Yeay! ? With the following (simplified) NodeJS code I can send the standby command to my fireplace: var net = require('net'); const prefix = '0233303330333033303830' var msg = "3136303003"; var packet = Buffer.from(prefix + msg, 'hex'); var client = new net.Socket(); client.connect(2000, '192.168.1.1'); client.write(packet); I know how to open a socket in HC3 QA but I don't get how to convert the message to a RAW buffer. The JavaScript line does it with Buffer.from(prefix + msg, 'hex'); Does some LUA god know how to convert the message in QA LUA for the HC3?
  2. Hi There, Long time since I've been here so I might have missed something, sorry for that. I'm figuring out a way to evade the use of the CR123A batteries since they are quite expensive and have the flaws off being empty ;) And the use of batteries at all being not that environmentally friendly. The Idea I have is this: In my (new) home, I'm going to have a Fibaro Motionsensor in every room corner. In this corner, about 30 cm above the floor, I have a 220v socket. Im going to drill a extra hole next to it and place a empty flush mounted box there with a blind plate on it. In the box will come a AC-DC 220v to 3.3v Stepdown regulator (Mean Well IRM-02-3.3 AC/DC). Via a (in wall) Cat6a UTP cable I plan to transport the 3.3v to the upper corner of the room with the motionsensor. I know the CR123A is 3v but I'm guessing the cable might drop the .3v in transport. The maximum cable length shall be no more than 3m. Else I need to have a stepdown 3.3v to 3v in the motionsensor. In the place where normally the CR123A comes I plan to 3D print a 'fill- up' part to connect the wires to the motionsensor. So in case of a flaw I do not need to solder in a corner 2,6m high. ;) My questions here: - Anyone did something like this, power the motionsensor via wallpower of any kind? - Someone know the maximum length of a 3.3v cable - Any other ideas or segestions are welcome I plan to make a 'how to' here, so if you are interested come back later. :D
  3. I'm trying to send a UDP packet in a scene triggered by a global variable change. I know UDP packets can be sent in a virtual device but I get the "attempt to index global 'Net' (a nil value)" error running Net.FUdpSocket() from a scene. Is there another way to send UDP packets in a scene? Thanks (@T.Konopka: Why did this get moved from the Scenes to the Modules forum? It's not a module question...)
  4. I have installed a TKB Dimmer Socket to control a table lamp in my hall connected to Fibaro motion detector. The scene sets the lamp at 80% initially and when no motion is detected for a set time it reduces it to 25% and turns it back up when motion is detected etc. I know there is no template for this device and may be that is my problem. I have requested one from Fibaro. However the issue is the bulb flickers for a while when it first comes on, it has a dimmable LED bulb in it. After about 20 minutes it settles down. Anyone else experiences this or have a cure for it ? Thanks Andy
