  1. I have an Aeotec Power relay controlling the spa pool. Since it is mounted outside, I can't use the built in switch on it. So, next to the spa override switch, I have another switch with a Fibaro double switch. It used to have an association to control the Aeotec relay directly. It lost it a while ago, which happens a lot on my setup. I cant remember how I had set it up, but when I try either of these - Endpoint 1, Group 1 -> Spa (S - Endpoint 0) Endpoint 0, Group 1 -> Spa (S - Endpoint 0) it says "Adding, Pending" and then disappears. So, I must have the config wrong. There is only "Group 1" in the dropdown. What association do I set up?
  2. Hello Fibaro Community, I have three dimmers in my setup, and I'm trying to control two of them using the switches on the third. Here are the details of my setup: Dimmer A Master: 46 Slaves: 46, 47, 48, 49, 50 Configuration: Connected to a incandescent dimmable load with a momentary switch on S1. Dimmer B Master: 288 Slaves: 289, 290, 291, 292 Configuration: Connected to a LED + Bypass dimmable load with a momentary switch on S1. Dimmer C Master: 352 Slaves: 353, 354, 355, 356 Configuration: No load connected. My goal is to control Dimmers A and B using the S1 and S2 switches on Dimmer C. I'm not entirely sure how to set up the associations correctly to achieve this. Could anyone guide me through the process or point me to the relevant documentation? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance! Pablo
  3. I've just upgraded from HCL to HC3 as I had too many devices and a reset was required every 3 days. I've added fibaro dimmers, switches and wall plug devices to the HC3 witth the latest beta firmware, all devices were added without the S2 security. Nevertheless, I've only managed to make one association work and that's now only working as a simple on/off association. On the HCL the dimming was also associated and worked perfectly! It was so simple on the HCL, all the associations just first time. What am I missing here? I've check for device updates and none of them needed an update. Some of my devices are 1st gen and some are 2nd gen Fibaro.
  4. Hi, I need to know if this is possible before ordering devices. I have a Walli Switch (in single mode but that is not relevant right now, but it would be switched to double when done) I want to buy a single relay that would be associated to the second channel of the walli switch and react to long press. I need the output of single relay to work as a push button so when i press and hold the walli switch it will keep holding the output on the relay, when i release the button it will release also the relay. Is this possible? In theory all i need to do is create an association from Endpoint2, Group2 of walli, to endpoint 1 group 1 on relay. True? Thanks EDIT: Broswing manuals.fibaro.com I discovered there are 2 products which i never realized Single Switch and Single Relay Switch. I yet have no idea how they are different but The question above may apply to either of these so it is still relevant it just might mention wrong device. Bear in mind I already have the walli switch and i am looking for the second device to associate it to.
  5. I have HC3 (on 5.091 beta) one Double Switch 2 (FGS-223) connected to the physical switch and one Dimmer 2 (FGD-212) connected to the bulb. My target is to be able to turn on/off the light with Switch or to dime the bulb by mobile app, web interface or Google Home assistant. I have created an association (Endpoint 2 | Group 2) on the Switch to the Dimmer so I am able to turn on/off the bulb (that is physically not connected to the Switch). My problem: If I turn on or dime the bulb via mobile app, web interface or google, the Double Switch 2 status does not change so if I want to turn off the bulb with the physical switch later on I have to click it twice (first to change status of Double Switch 2 to on and second to turn it off). How the associations and parametres should be setup to solve this?
  6. Hi everyone! I’m quite new to the Fibaro world. In fact I’m just fiddling around with my newly bought set of equipment in my “test lab”. I can get everything to work as expected and wanted except for one thing: Associations on the fgs223 don’t seem to work at all. I tried everything: - including both a wall plug and a fgs223 non-secure - including both a wall plug and a fgs223 secure - resetting everything (including HC3) to factory defaults - setting all relevant parameters to all possible values - looking into the jsons the api provides What I can achieve is: - Associate a button of my KeyFob to a WallPlug - works charming even when the HC3 is not present. - set the association in a fgs223 for either endpoint 0 or endpoint 1 to the correct id of a WallPlug (json confirms that the association is set accordingly) Whatever I do the associations won’t trigger neither a WallPlug nor another fgs223. Is there any known issue according to associations with the fgs223? Maybe some trick to get it working? I could (and most likely will) help me out with scenes, but that’s not want I want... What am I missing? Any help or pointing into the right direction is very much appreciated! Best regards to all of you, Ben
  7. I have three RGBW controllers, each controlling three mono-chrome LED strips. Control using the app or GUI works fine, both on/off and dimming. For direct physical control, I use switch number 2 on a Fibaro dimmer installed in a wall box behind a double momentary switch. Switch number two on the dimmer is associated with the appropriate output channel on the RGBW controller. The way this is supposed to work, is as follows: When the switch is operated, the information is "shared" through the association, instructing the RGBW to act accordingly. For on/off this works fine. For dimming, however, I am not able to control the RGBW. When I push-and-hold the switch, the LED strip starts to change after a short delay, but then quickly "jumps" to the extreme position (0 or 100%). It seems the z-wave communication between the dimmer switch and the RGBW controller is too slow to handle a dynamic dimming situation. There is no load connected directly to switch number 2 on the dimmer. I have tried to alter the parameters on the RGBW controller, but I have found no setting that allows me to do a controlled dimming of the LED strips by using the switch. Any suggestions? I may add that for one LED strip, I tried a similar setup but with a Fibaro double switch (not a dimmer) as the parent device. This did not work at all, so in this case I use a work-around through a script triggered by the switch actions (push, push-and-hold etc.). But for the ones with a dimmer as the parent device, it seems I am very close to making it work properly and I would like to keep the "association" method if at all possible.
  8. I (plan to) use 5 FGS 223 to supplant Insteon modules to control 3 lighting points ( or 3 circuits ). These are controlled from 2 different switch locations. 1 of the FGS 223 is configured as a slave (DIN module). Ideally one would use associations ( response times...). When associating 1 fgs223 endpoint 1 with the corresponding endpoint 1 on the 2nd fgs223 ( association set in assoc group 2) , the associations do not work. When i replace the FGS 223 with A Qubino flush 2 relay ( and associate it ) , the Qubino as master can perfectly control the FIB fgs223. The other way around - FGS223 to Qubino - does not work . Resetting multiple times 1 of the FGS 223 back to factory defaults made the FIBARO parameter template unavailable ( setting of parameters has to be done in the basic approach , parameter by parameter... ) question to the community : has anybody experienced difficulties in associating multiple FGS 223? HC2 version 4.560 txs
  9. I have a smoke alarm (FireAngel ST-630 with Sprue Z-wave-module) which I would like to trigger switching off a relay when an alarm is given. Basically, there are two ways to make one device trigger another, associations or scenes. Using association has the advantage of being independent of the HC2 gateway, so that is what I was looking for at first. The supplier of the alarm tells me, however, that association will not work in this case, since the appropriate association group uses a "sensor notification reports and not a set command". I am a little out of my depth here, and would appreciate any comments. The complete documentation for the device is enclosed. There is no Fibaro template for this device, but I do not expect that to make a difference. Do you agree with the supplier that association to a switch or relay is not possible in this case? What is a good and simple way to set up a scene for this function: 'If smoke alarm on device xxx then set switch yyy to "off"?' Sprue-Z-Wave-Module-Developer-Pack-2017.pdf
  10. Hi I am playing around with HUE together with my Fibaro system and so far it works fairly well. I am able to get my wall switch (with a dimmer 1 behind it) "control" the HUE indirectly via scenes. So I am able to switch the HUE on or off just by pressing S1 on the dimmer. However, if I use the HUE remote the dimmer won't know about it and comes out of sync. Working example: - press S1 on dimmer kicks of a LUA script that sends a "on" signal to the HUE light. - press S1 on dimme again sends an "off" signal to the HUE Not working example: - Hue started via the LUA script as mentioned above. If I then kill the light via the HUE remote the dimmer of course won't get a notification of that and still thinks it is "on". To "resync" the two devices I have to press S1 two times again. This of course works but, I would like to get another LUA script to pick up the status of the HUE and set the fibaro dimmer accordingly. I can see that the HUE light status (on/off) is picked up by my controller if I press the remote so my idea was to use the following code to pick it up and set the dimmer in the same state. --[[ %% properties 145 HUE light 164 Fibaro dimmer %% globals --]] local startSource = fibaro:getSourceTrigger(); if (fibaro:getValue(145, "ui.onOff.value") == '1') then fibaro:call(164, 'turnOn') else fibaro:call(164, 'turnOff') end But problem is that the script never executes. it is set to automatically start and I can execute it manually to verify it works but I still cannot get it to execute automatically (possible that it does not recognize the on/off trigger on the HUE). Any suggestion of how this could be done? And just to clarify, I am not using the dimmer to control the HUE lights directly. I am only using it to trigger the HUE via scripts. //Peter

Task: To control one channel on the RGBW controller/dimmer remotely through a double momentary switch (using S2) on the Dimmer 2. Solution, and some questions: Install the RGBW unit and its load, add it to the HC2 and assign its outputs. In my case, all 4 are "input/output" to control separate monocolor LED strips. Install the Dimmer 2 and its load and add it to the HC2 Select the master module of the Dimmer 2. Go to Advanced - Associations Select the 5th Association group ("Dimmer on S2"), since the RGBW we want to control is a dimmer, not an on/off function Check the box in the M column for the appropriate RGBW channel and click Save. First question: Group 5 is specifically for a multilevel switch, e.g. a dimmer. Why is there even an S box available for this group? Should it ever be used? Second question: There is a box for the HC2 at the top of the Associations list. What is the effect of ticking this box? Should the HC2 normally be ticked in the M column as well? Third question: I have seen a screen dump somewhere for a similar case. Here, the Dimmer itself was ticked in the associations list. I have avoided this, as it does not seem logical to include an association from a unit to itself. Any views? Fourth question: I assume that using Group 5 transfers all the normal switch commands: Single click for on/off, click and hold to dim up or down, double click for full light. Correct? Fifth question: In step 3 above, would it be possible (or even preferable) to select the slave unit used to operate the dimmer function instead? The reason I ask these questions, is that I have successfully followed the 6 steps above, with slight variations, and get variable results. Some units seem to work seamlessly, others are a little erratic (no response on single click, hard to control dimming function etc.). The 'slight variations' are in the way I did the associations, and are related to some of my questions. If anybody can provide suggested answers, I can focus on any remaining issues.
  12. Hi Fibaro experts, I have been using my fibaro setup for a couple of years with mixed success. Some things work quite well and some, well not so well. Feels at times as if the software really isn't tested before it is released which is unfortunate. Anyway I still like what it can do so trying to live with the problem it causes. However, this problem really annoys me and must be fixable somehow so hoping someone out there has a clever answer for it. One of the setups I have today: 1 fibaro dimmer 2 in the hallway 1 fibaro dimmer 2 in the kitchen The dimmer in the kitchen is associated with the hallway dimmer so that S2 is able to control the light in the hallway. This works fine as long as I always control it from the kitchen. So if I press once the hallway lights up and if i press another time the hallway goes dark, just as expected. However, If I press once on S2 in the kitchen and then switch it off in the hallway (with the wall switch i have there) the control in the kitchen looses sync why i need to press it twice to light it up again. So what happens is that the kitchen dimmer works fine as long as I don't use the wall switch connected to the hallway dimmer. If I do then the dimmer in the kitchen Case 1: 1. activate S2 in Kitchen > Hallway lights up. 2. activate S2 in kitchen again > Hallway goes dark Case 2: 1. activate S2 in Kitchen > Hallway lights up. 2. activate S1 in hallway > Hallway goes dark 3. activate S2 in kitchen again > Nothing happens (reason is because the kitchen dimmer tries to shut down the hallway light as it wasn't aware that i already killed the light via the hallway dimmer) 4. if i then press S2 in the kitchen again the light in the hallway lights up again. A small thing but oh so irritating. There must be something I am missing as I have the same functionality in my walk in closet and my bedroom. However, with the difference that i there have a dimmer 2 in the bedroom and a dimmer 1 in the walk in closet. For some reason these two devices sync perfectly and work seamlessly together. Anyone out there that has the same setup? Have you been able to solve it? /Peter
  13. I'm trying to tune my z-wave installation. I have LAMP1 connected to a Fibaro On/Off Switch. I have LAMP2 connected to Swiid Cord Switch. According to the manual of the Swiid, on LAMP2 I have set association group 2 to my Fibaro Home Center, so when I turn the lamp on/off with the button, the status is reported back to the Home Center. Now, I have created an association that makes the On/Off Switch of LAMP1, also turn on LAMP2. This works, but the status of LAMP2 (with Swiid) is not reported back to the Home Center. The status of LAMP1 (with Fibaro on/off) is reported back to the HC2. How can I make the Swiid report it’s status back when I turn it on/off through an association from another device ? The 2nd association group of the Swiid is associated with my Home Center.
  14. I'm in the planning stages, and would like your comment on these plans: 1. I intend to use one RGBW controller to control two dual-white LED strips, each having two inputs (warm and cold white). One strip will be connected to R&G, the other to B&W. Control of color temperature will be through scripts/scenes. The RGBW controller will be located in the ceiling panel, near the transformer for the LED strip, on the low voltage side. 2. In some rooms I will have a regular LED lamp as well, controlled by a Fibaro dimmer. I plan to connect this lamp (220 V side) directly to the dimmer switch S1, while addressing the RGBW by S2 using an association to input channel I1 and I2 (or I3 and I4). On the RGBW controller there will be no physical connection to the input channels, as they will be controlled through Z-Wave. On/off and dimming will be achieved by switch S2, which activates both LED strip colors. 3. In other rooms, the LED strip will be the only light source. In this case, I would still like to hide the RGBW in the ceiling with no direct connection to the wall switch. Behind the wall switch, I would have liked to have a simple Z-wave controller, without a 220 V relay, which through association could address the RGBW remotely. As this does not seem to exist, do I need to install a regular Fibaro switch without a load on S1 instead?
  15. Hi, i bought the Fibaro Double Switch 2 Gen5 and a Fibaro Single Switch 2 Gen5 to control my hallway light. I created an Association with Fibaro Single Switch to the Fibaro Double Switch so I could control the Fibaro Double Switch S2 switch from the top of the stairs and from the bottom in my hallway. When the Fibaro Single Switch (The Transmitter) is set to toggle switching (Variable 20, 1byte dec, 1) it works ok, but when I change it to Momentary (Variable 20, 1byte dec, 0) switching It does not work (It does not turn light on or off) it's as if the Fibaro Double Switch does not receive the signal sent to it or ignores it? Thanks for any help Colin
  16. Hi everyone, I have a few Dimmer 2s (FGD212) and an RGBW (FGRGBWM-441). One Dimmer 2 is wired up (3-wire install) to a double switch. S1 controls the wired light. S2 is also connected. The dimmer works from my app for the single light just fine. If I set S2 to control another Dimmer 2 via association group 4, it works perfectly. If I try to set S2 to control the RGBW via association group 4 or 5, nothing happens. Has anybody achieved this? If so, what am I missing? I'm very grateful for any help the community can provide. I am using a Samsung SmartThings hub, not HCL. I will ask the question in their forum too. Thanks for your time. JDB
  17. hi, I have a relay module and when I switch in on I would like an RGBW module to switch on and have the color red. Is this possible with 'Association' or do I need to make a scene (I prefer Association) I do use another scene to set the same rgbw device to green (so last color used would not be an option) thanks for your help in advance! Regards, Martijn
  18. Good morning everyone! I have set up several rooms in the house with a thermostat and a wall plug directly associated, the thermostat controlling the wall plug. The thermostat is also controlled by a heating panel, but that's a different topic and works fine. Yesterday one wall plug stopped communicating with the HC2, and the thermostat would not control it either, it was just always on and the room got rather warm! I tried to remove the wall plug and add it again, and do the association again, everything seems fine, but the thermostat WILL NOT control the wall plug... I am totally lost, I worked with this for several hours yesterday, tried factory reset on the thermostat and the wall plug, to no avail... The only difference I can actually see is that one wall plug displays the serial no. and the other doesn't, see picture. Can this possibly affect my setup??? I am grateful for any help! Kind regards, Jonas
  19. Hello, I'm looking for a simple thermostat function. I have a Fibaro Motion sensor for measuring temperature and I have electrical heating connected to a Switch relay. I have created a heating panel, but this needs to be connected to a thermostat which I don't have. Now I have seen that there was a function "Linking Devices" for heating, but this function isn't there in 4.110. It is replaced with associations, but this is not the solution. Can somebody help me please? Yannick
  20. I have a very weird problem. I have set up a door sensor as switch and have associated it with a Dimmer2. The association works ... except, when I turn off the dimmer with the wall switch, I need to press the switch on the door sensor twice before it turns on the light. Why is that? Tried the new and old door sensor, and tried it with the 3.4 and 3.5 firmware of the Dimmer2.
  21. Hi, I'm trying to get associations to work between two FGD-212 modules. S2 on Module1 should control Module2 According to docs Module2 should be configured in Association Group 4 and 5 of Module1. However I can't get it to work. Both modules are within 2 meters range. One thing I noticed when configuring associations was that the ID that is displayed after "To be set" is not the same ID as Module2. Should the "to be set" ID match the device ID of the module I want to control? Or is this some other ID? Maybe my device database is screwed...Can anyone verify in their HC2 if the device ID should match the real device ID? Please have a look at the attached screenshots, showing the "To be set" ID and the actual ID of the module I'm trying to control. Thanks Andreas
  22. I am trying to create an ASSOCIATION between Fibaro Motion Sensor and Fibaro Wall Plug. Motion Sensor sees motion -> Wall plug switches on. Both sensors work fine on their own. I’ve read the PDF manual from Fibaro web (http://materialy.fibaro.com/technical%20presentations/HC2_A4_MotionSens_RelaySwitch_Association.pdf) but this does not help. The latest UI works a bit differently. I have been able to get this to work using SCENES but it was way too slow. It took around 8 seconds from motion to turn on the lights. Instead, pressing light -button from Fibaro UI works instantly. No idea why there is such a massive processing delay?? Any and all help will be appreciated. I am a total newbie and need some assistance to get everything working. I am selecting Motion Sensor -> Advanced -> Associations GROUP 1 Single channel associations To be set: 20 Current (on device): 20 Multi channel associations To be set: Current (on device): I have Fibaro Wall Plug selected. Save -> Nothing happens. Notification screen remains empty. Light switch does not work. Are there some additional settings that need to be adjusted in Motion Sensor Advance mode??
  23. I have two motion sensors and two dimmers installed to control hall and landing lights. I have successfully configured an association for the hall sensor and dimmer so that the lights come on at night when the motion sensor is triggered. However, I cannot get the same to work for the other motion sensor and dimmer on the landing - the motion sensor is being activated but the dimmer isn't being activated. The settings on both (set using Vera control panel) are identical: Any ideas how I can get the second one working or is this a known limitation wth Fibaro devices?
  24. Hi, Is there a way to associate a RGBW controller (FGRGB-101) as a master, with a Dimmer 2 module (FGD-212) as a slave, either as a Z-Wave direct association or with a LUA script on the main controller? My goal is to dim LEDs connected to 110-240V AC, with a distant low voltage RGBW module. LEDs are connected to a Dimmer 2 module. 30 feet away, a 12V DC RGBW controller interprets the variable output of an analog sensor. I'd like to dim the distant LEDs accordingly to the level the RGBW module would set if it was directly connected to equivalent 12V DC LEDs. In other words, can the dimming level information of an RGBW controller be passed to a Dimmer 2? I know that two RGBW modules can be synchronised, but I don't know if an RGBW module and a Dimmer 2 module can be synchronised.
  25. Usually I don't consider myself stupid, and I have meddled with z-wave for some time, but the topic of association is beyond me. At least when trying to make the S2 button on a Dimmer 2 (FGD-212) turn on and off one or both of the relays in the FGS-222. In the association panel of the dimmer on HC2 (latest firmware) I am presented with Endpoint 0 and Endpoint 2, the meaning of which I don't get either by Googling or by reading the manuals. Under Endpoint 0 there are five groups, Endpoint 1 has three. Which to use, I wonder? To make it short, what am I to do to get the desired result? I have tried randomly, and sometimes the relay miraculously switches, but then trying again it doesn't react at all. UPDATE: trying the wall switch (S2) once more I have some more success if I hold the button a little longer, but it is still unreliable and hardly wife and kids friendly. As you can see in the following screenshot, I tried Group 4 in Endpoint 0, Single Channel Assosiation, with the drawback that both relays are then chosen automatically (although confusingly only one of them actually responds to the button press, occasionally....) Any hints? Thanks in advance! Øystein
