  1. Hi All, I have a LED (single colour white) LED strip controlled by an RGBW module. It doesn't have a physical button, instead its controlled via association (s2 from a dimmer 2) Its been working perfectly for ages. I recently updated the firmware on the RGBW and now it always switches on at 1%. If I double press the s2 on dimmer 2 it switches the RGBW to 100% but I really need it to just remember its last state. Has anyone got an idea? Cheers tom
  2. Hello all, I'm working of a Zipatile controller from Zipato. But all my dimmer modules are FGD-212 modules. There are recent firmware upgrades I don't have. How can I update the modules myself, via the Zipato controller? I can't find an instruction on upgrading the firmware anywhere. Regards, Pieter
  3. Hi, Have this strange issue for the 3rd time this year. One of my dimmers will not turn off, this has happened several times before on different devices sometimes on several at the same time. Rebooting HC2 does not help. Pushing the wall switch makes it turn off shortly but it turns on again a couple seconds later. Any ideas?
  4. Hi all I have just installed my first dimmer2 module. How do I configure the devices associated with switch 2? When I configured my dimmer1 modules (a long time ago) it was just a case of assigning devices to association group 2. For the dimmer2, there is Endpoint 1 and Endpoint 2, with up to 5 association groups. The online manual does not mention what Endpoint means, and suggests that I should use group 4 or 5 for switch 2, but this does not work. What am I doing wrong? What does Endpoint 1 and 2 mean?
  5. I have a very weird problem. I have set up a door sensor as switch and have associated it with a Dimmer2. The association works ... except, when I turn off the dimmer with the wall switch, I need to press the switch on the door sensor twice before it turns on the light. Why is that? Tried the new and old door sensor, and tried it with the 3.4 and 3.5 firmware of the Dimmer2.
  6. All, I want to share, what looks like a simple usecase BUT still very complex to build or find the right settings within the (fibaro) Dimmer2 or in combination with a scene. Used (involved) Components: 1x Dimmer2 (FGD212), 1X Lamp, 1X HC2 (v4110) Description of the use case: When I turn on the light (manually) after SunSet the dimmer is set to 20% else will be 80% or a double-click will set the light to 100%. (last part is simple as this is a functionality is within the dimmer it self) (I do not want a bright light when I go to the loo in the middel of the night) Interested in any suggestions
  7. Hello Everyone. I have what I consider a pretty typical setup. A nest and FIbaro lights and smokes. Pretty basic 10 circuits, nothing special happening here. While I think the Fibaro app is pretty decent, I wanted something I little more focused and polished for me. So, I have built a Android and IOS app which is modelled on the look and feel of the Savant app: https://www.savant.com/product/savant-app The app is fully working, just need a visual improvement - but it looks decent already. Its a side project - so dev will happen when i have time. I never planned on realising this in the wild, but a few people who have seen it love it - so thinking about submitting to relevant stores. Its boring features are: - Picks up weather and such like - Pick up NEST information (via Fibaro home centre or home centre lite) - Get all relevant devices from the system - Allows you to input your IP / user / pass (and saves) to allow connectivity to the home centre / lite (can use dyndns for those not on static IPs at home) - Runs via HTTP - so will work inside and outside the home. (use local IP on the internal only devices) The more interesting features are: - Allows you to (So much easier than Fibaro) create scenes on the app - in a lovely interface. - Will sync all settings of the scenes with either the Fibaro box, or Dropbox (or similar) - Might make it control the Nest also and other device types which fit within the focus of the app & alerts - Keeps the device alive if desired (prevent screen off) What im looking to do: - Get some flush wall mounts of ipad Minis / Andriod tabs made up (using 3D printers to keep costs low) - Have these as wall mounted control centres - keep the cost very low. - Allow people to re-use these old devices - rather than capture dust in a draw. Is there much appetite for such stuff in this community? If so ill look to finish it up and develop. Ill probably put it up as a paid app, mainly to cover costs and support / continious development. I will stress this is not a replacement for the Fibaro app - its just more focused and beautiful.
  8. Hi, Is there a way to associate a RGBW controller (FGRGB-101) as a master, with a Dimmer 2 module (FGD-212) as a slave, either as a Z-Wave direct association or with a LUA script on the main controller? My goal is to dim LEDs connected to 110-240V AC, with a distant low voltage RGBW module. LEDs are connected to a Dimmer 2 module. 30 feet away, a 12V DC RGBW controller interprets the variable output of an analog sensor. I'd like to dim the distant LEDs accordingly to the level the RGBW module would set if it was directly connected to equivalent 12V DC LEDs. In other words, can the dimming level information of an RGBW controller be passed to a Dimmer 2? I know that two RGBW modules can be synchronised, but I don't know if an RGBW module and a Dimmer 2 module can be synchronised.
  9. I have run several tests to check how the dimmer2 modules reacts on different light sources and amounts. It seems that when you use halogen light sources of more then 600 watts, and reduce the maximum brightness level enough so that the load does not exceed 250 watts, the dimmer gets overheated and turns itself off after some time. .. can anyone else confirm this behavior and perhaps know of a fix ?
  10. I installed a dimmer 2 several months ago and on the advanced set up panel i can give it Lili commands. This works well and enables me to turn the lights on and off using Lili. I installed two more dimmer 2 modules yesterday (the same firmware as the previous) but i dont have the option in the advanced panel to set Lili commands. This entrigued me so i checked all my other devices and it seems i cant find an option for this for any of them other than the dimmer 2 module already mentioned. What gives? How can i set voice commands to my other modules? Why is the option missing on the other two dimmers? Do we have a set of commands ready built into Lili? For instance on my ipad i have an option (pre built in) to turn all the lights on in the house. Do we have pre-built commands for this kind of thing in Lili? How would i add new commands to Lili? Cheers.
  11. Hi, I have a Dimmer 2 that I'm using with 16x 5w Megaman dimmable LED GU10s (141391). It's in a 3-wire configuration. I'm using them with a Vera Edge but I don't think that's important for my issue. My issue is that it doesn't dim down anywhere low enough. At full brightness they report 87 watts, but at 1% dim, they are currently reporting 20.3 watts which is still pretty bright! Also, the dim range is far from linear. There is almost no decrease in light/power dropping from 100% to 50%. It's only when I get below about 40% that there is much noticeable decrease. I've done a couple of re-calibrates but it doesn't seem to help. After doing so Variable 1 (min brightness) is set to 10 and 2 (max) is set to 46. I've tried setting variable one lower but the value doesn't seem to stay. Would the Dimmer Bypass 2 maybe help me out here? Thanks Richard
  12. Hi, I have a couple of Dimmer2 modules attached to single (toggle) switch and they work fine. I have one Dimmer2 attached to a double toggle switch 2 wire setup. It is the latter one that is causing the issues. When it hasn't been activated for a while, it acts strangely. Upon activation, either via switch, scene or within the app, it blinks for a split second, shortly followed by an attempt to turn on and then turns off again. Then I have to flip the switch a couple of times before it turns on completely. Then once it has been turned on it responds to commands perfectly. I have turned parameter 20 to toggle. Has anyone else experienced this before? I forced it to to a auto-calibration again without success. I have no spare modules lying around to give that a go unfortunately. I would rather try to solve this first before going out and buy more. Thank you for your help. KR, Kristof
  13. Hi all, I've done a quick search but can only find incredibly complex scripts to work with the motion sensor on here - I'm just trying to learn the basics first! I have a Fibaro Dimmer2 controlling wall lights and a Fibaro Motion Sensor. I want to turn the lights on when it detects movement and then turn them off after it has checked for 5 minutes of no activity. Using this page by FibaroUK: http://www.fibarouk.co.uk/support/getting-started/motion-activated-lights/ and this LUA script: --[[ %% properties 56 value (Set to my Motion ID) %% globals --]] local motionID = 56 (Set to my Motion ID) local wallLightID = 46 (Set to Wall Light ID) if (fibaro:getValue(motionID, 'value') == '0') then fibaro:sleep(300 * 1000) if (fibaro:getValue(motionID, 'value') == '0') then fibaro:call(wallLightID, 'turnOff') end else fibaro:call(wallLightID, 'turnOn') end It works if I run it manually, but then it won't work automatically. Also, is this the only scene I need to create? It says about using the Blocks Scene for On / Off but then mentions: So I'm assuming that I don't need the block scenes? Sorry, I appreciate this is probably really stupid questions - but gotta start somewhere! Thanks, Josh
  14. I use a lot of dimmer2 products in my house and they are all function pretty well. However, I have two dimmers that are connected to 2 different lights outside (LED) and both these outside lights keep producing a very small amount of light when I turn off the dimmer completely. The home center reports "light off" and 0.00W. It looks like they are dimmed to 1% (flicker a little) but for sure they are not completely off. Is this some kind of setting I have to change or does it have to do anything with the drivers in the outside LED-lights? Regards, Gijsbert
  15. Hello All, I have got a number of Philips Hue GU10 (color) spots sitting behind a dimmer2. I basically have these spots at a dim level of 100% at all times and use the Hue Plugin and scripts leveraging this plugin to control the dim level. It would be nice (ideal even) if I could attach a switch to S2 on dimmer2. Then capture dim levels from S2 to drive a scene that calls the Hue Plugin to pass on or synchronise the dim levels accordingly. I know how to set dim levels though the Hue Plugin, but have not been able to figure out how to capture dim levels from S2 on dimmer2. Is there anyone who could give me a pointer? I appreciate all the help you can give me! Cheers, Barry
  16. Hi, I'm new to Fibaro and am looking to wire in a Dimmer 2 to a circuit which has 2 way switching. As I am not an electrician, I do not understand why the lights only work with one of the 2 way switches on/off. I have the Sx terminal connected to wire going to the other switch with S1 connected to the switch at the Dimmer 2. There are neutrals at the switch which are connected to N and the system works OK as long as I don't use the wall switches. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.
  17. Goodmorning, I installed a dimmer 2 in a very simple setting, just trying to understand the concept at first. I installed it exacly like this video: Result: - dimmer2 is found as device in my hc2lite - I can switch on / off a regular bulb (40w) - however it is not possible to dim the bulb (sliding via the webinterface simply does have no effect). Anyone a suggestion how to fix? And one another question: In my fibaro webinterface I see three 'dimmer devices'. 2 are working, one is not. What is de difference between those three? Best regards, Roel Nicolai beginner in electricity, fibaro, dimmers
  18. Hi, Does anyone know if a dimmer2 can be used solely as a remote switch - using S2 only. i.e. without anything connected to S1 or Load I'm trying to control another Dimmer2 unit - one at the top of the stairs - with the light, the other at the bottom - where I just have 3-way power - but no light. Should this work? Do I need a Load on the Dimmer2 unit for the S2 to send events? Any suggestions? [i have a working Dimmer2 S2 -> Relay, but this dimmer has a light connected to S1 + L, so similar but not exactly the same!]
  19. Hi, I have a Dimmer 2 with two switches. I want the S2 to control the on/off & Brightness of a Fibaro RGB Module. I've had the exact same set-up working fine with a Dimmer 1. The problem I have is the RGB Module doesn't come on with a single click, only with a press and hold. And when it does come on its not at its last state, rather it comes on at the min level. I don't really understand all the new associations, I currently have it set at EndPoint 0, Group 5, although I've tried Group 4 too. Whats strange is the RGB Module will switch off with a single click, it just won't switch on. The two Modules are about 3Meters away from each other. Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers tom
