  1. Hi to you all! Maybe you know that I'm a critical HC2 user since 2013. In short, as I mention here I was feeling the Fibaro was holding me back in possibilities, privacy and security. So I started to investigate to get more control over what I think was important to me. I said I would abandon the HC2. The good news, I will not (for now). After extensive testing and trying to find a proper configuration, I found a way to implement the HC2, demanding my needs and wishes concerning: Security Privacy Possibilities Time to spend (re-configuring 200+ devices, 50 scenes and 30 Virtual Devices) The solution I'm implementing is a Raspberry Pi 3 with Node-Red for all communications from the HC2. In short, this means using the HC2 solely as a Z-wave controller and automation gateway. Setup: - The Node-Red will receive commands from the HC2 by an encrypted (https) and password protected connection. At this point it's still one way by sending from the HC2 to Node-Red. - The HC2 is (will be) blocked from internet access. Internet access to the HC2 will be done by VPN. - All other domotica devices are on a separate subnet (VLAN). - All messages (email/push/Telegram) is processed by Node-Red. (disabling all Fibaro 'services'). Example: An alarm is breached: - HC2 will send a message by https to Node-Red. - Node-Red sends IP-Camera snapshots to own email-server, push-account or private Telegram-bot. - Node-Red will check my Ubiquiti manage-switch to check if someone is at home (Mobile phone present in LAN) at will send result to push or Telegram. For sending data to Node-Red a scene is used with content of 5 Global Variable, triggered by one: SC_Nred_VarName (Name variable to send. used as trigger, must be written as last) SC_Nred_VarVal (Value to send) SC_Nred_VarType (not used yet, could be used for sending the type of value, like string, date, time etc.) SC_Nred_VarLog (data for storing data in Node-Red logfiles) SC_Nred_VarPath (path to the Node-Red http-receive-node, default /hc2) The scene code (Beta code 20170526): --[[ %% properties %% events %% globals SC_Nred_VarName --]] -- -- Initialisation of user settings (change if necessary) -- -- Global variables (has to be added manually in HC2 variables panel) local globVarName = 'SC_Nred_VarName'; -- Name of global variable to send (trigger!) local globVarValue = 'SC_Nred_VarVal'; -- Value of global variable to send local globVarType = 'SC_Nred_VarType'; -- Type of global variable to send local globVarLog = 'SC_Nred_VarLog'; -- Logmessage to send local globVarPath = 'SC_Nred_VarPath'; -- Node-Red http-node path to interact with -- Node-Red server connections credentials local nredIp = '192.168.x.x'; -- Node-RED server IP-address local nredPort = 1880; -- Node-Red server port number local nredUser = 'HC2'; -- Node-Red user used to change variables local nredPass = 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX'; -- Node-Red password of used user -- Node-Red server credentials options: true = Enable, false = Disable local nredUseLogin = false; -- TODO!! Can`t find HC2 after put in recovery.

Hello! We recived a broken HC2 at the office. Reporting that an end-user can`t connect to the HC2. Can`t find the HC2 with Fibaro finder nor using Advanced IP Scanner (looking for a mac adress) I have tried using the backup IP adress:, adjustig my computer to 192.186.81.x. Still cant find it with Fibaro Finder / Advanced IP Scanner. Tried regular boot multiple times with and without Recovery Stick plugged in. When I did regular boot. ONLY the power LED was lit up. And yes, I know the ethernet port I used has a direct connection to my computer. (As i use it on a daily basis.) Any suggestions on this? Is there some sort of "Quick fix"? Or do Fibaro need to take a look at this. Thanks! Best regards Hans

    Domoticz in combination with HC2

Hi, I was searching on the forum about 2-way communication between Domoticz and HC2 (or HCL). What is my situation? At the moment I am running Domoticz with Fibaro modules and I am considering to move to Fibaro, however I want to keep my LUA scripts in Domoticz for the time being. The idea is to exclude all devices in Domoticz and move them to HC2 (or HCL) and keep the scripting running on Domoticz, so I am looking for a way to get variables from Fibaro to Domoticz for the LUA scripts. Furthermore if a variable from Fibaro triggers something in the LUA script in domoticz I want to sent a command back to Fibaro from domoticz. Is that possible? It is an in between solution so that my HA can keep on running. Thx already. Rik
  4. Hi. Yesterday I made a backup of my HC2 (version 4.180), which I do from time to time (usually without problems). After the backup it restarted, and then 36 of my devices were "not configured"! A lot of devices that I had hidden in the user interface, reappeared. The unconfigured devices are impossible to configure. They just have a status of "reconfiguring", and that's all, for many hours. The devices don't work, of course. If I try to, say, adjust i light dimmer, it says "configuring" and then nothing else. No response from Fibaro support either. I tried to restore a backup. No change. Please, wise forum, help! Helge
  5. Just bought the siren from Aeotec, and tried playing around with it yesterday. If I add the device with "Add in security mode if device supports it" it has trouble reading parameters, and if I press on the sirene does not react. However, if I add it without selecting secure mode, the sirene works as expected and I can change parameters and turn it on and off as I like. Another weird thing I see: when I include the sirene, it defaulted to being on. Weird behaviour, but I believe this is a problem with Aeotec. Have anyone else seen this problem where secure mode doesn't work? HC2 version 4.120
  6. Hi, I´m writing a couple of VERY SIMPLE LUA Scenes that I have linked to Double Click action of a double switch 2. The scene often works fine, but sometimes, some the turnon or turnoff actions are not executed. (by instance, instead of turning off the 3 lights, only 2 are turnned off, or maybe the vent turnon fails...) Also tried added sleep between commands but the result is the same. Any idea? This is quite frustrating... When I run the scen from the debuger interface, it seems that it works properly... As stated, the code is very simple: (Turn off lights, turn on vent, wait 7 minutes and turn off vent (except if the light were turned on again while the vent is on) fibaro:call(88, "turnOff"); --light off 1 fibaro:sleep(100); fibaro:call(93, "turnOff"); --light off 2 fibaro:sleep(100); fibaro:call(94, "turnOff"); --light off 3 fibaro:sleep(100); fibaro:call(89, "turnOn"); --this is the vent fibaro:sleep(420000); -- wait 7 minutes local bathLightStatus = 0; bathLightStatus = bathLightStatus + fibaro:getValue(88, 'value'); bathLightStatus = bathLightStatus + fibaro:getValue(93, 'value'); bathLightStatus = bathLightStatus + fibaro:getValue(94, 'value'); -- fibaro:debug('Number of bath lights on: ' .. bathLightStatus); if ( bathLightStatus == 0) then -- fanStatus = fibaro:getValue(89, 'value'); -- fibaro:debug('Fan Status ' .. fanStatus); fibaro:call(89, "turnOff"); -- fibaro:sleep(1000); -- fanStatus = fibaro:getValue(89, 'value'); -- fibaro:debug('Fan Status after off ' .. fanStatus); end

  8. Hello guys, I ran into interesting problem. Honestly i do not know if problem is in Fibaro or Global Cache, so i need some help. Ticket in partners dedicated channel: #95470. I'm doing VD for a customer (Fibaro dealer) for control of Somfy RTS module (VD is below). But i'm able to receive only 8 comands, then it seems like connection get stucked. If i send commands from iTest (global cache app), that i am not a problem to receive more than 8 commands. If i send commands from Fibaro to PC directly (Hercules app can be set as TCP server), then i'm able receive more than 8 commands (Same port and protocol, just diffrent IP adress). I'm sending those serial commands (RS-232/RS-485) to my Laptop to application Hercules (Link below). Global Cache i'm using is iTach Flex IP. Cables connected are Flex Link RS-232 cable and Flex Link RS-485 cable. I tested it with both. As RS-485 to USB converter i'm using something like that: http://www.rockonpro.pl/monacor-da-70157 or this one (rs-232) http://www.aten.com/global/en/products/usb-&-thunderbolt/usb-converters/uc232a/#.WWNf3ulpzg4 @T.Konopka or @M.Baranowski, can you look at this one please? HC2 Zwave Frequency

Hi I purchased an HC2 and accessories from the UK and have been running a system for 2 years in Hong Kong where the power plugs are the same as the UK. I am about to relocate to New Zealand where the Zwave band is different. Can a user change the Zwave band of a HC2 unit or is the Zwave chipset different for each Zwave region? If it cannot be changed in the field, I will sell all my UK Kit and start again! thanks Darren Breeze
  10. Hello, Is it posible in HC2 LUA to create global functions? I use o lot of functions over and over again and have to include them in every scene Is it possible to create functions in a centralized scene and use them from every other scene? Example: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GlobalFunctions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ global function BeepXseconds(x) fibaro:call(42, "turnOn") fibaro:sleep(x * 1000) fibaro:call(42, "turnOff") end global function MyDebug(text, color) -- read GlobalGlob if DebugGlob = true then -- do something with formatting text, add OS.date and add colors fibaro:debug(text) end end ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ now i can use the global functions in other scenes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ scene 161 - TurnAlarmOn ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- do something MyDebug("Turn Alarm on", "red") BeepXseconds(5) -- do something ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ scene 254 - Doorbell ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- do something MyDebug("Someone is ringing", "BLUE") BeepXseconds(2) -- do something ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AND OFCOURSE I CAN CREATE SCENES AND USE THEM LIKE GLOBAL FUNCTIONS BUT PARSING VARIABLES IS NOT THAT SIMPLE, I THEN HAVE TO USE GLOBAL VARIABLES REAL GLOBAL FUNCTIONS (LIKE A LIBRARY) WOULD BE GREAT !!!
  11. Hi All I’ve just bought an Aeotec Wallmote Quad controller. When I add it to my HC2, I can select what to do when I press or hold any of the four buttons. Nice! But: I want to use it to control a Fibaro Dimmer. The Wallmote has swipe commands that should do this, but I can’t get it to work. Please help!
  12. Hi I've had weird issues with my Z-Wave network for a while that seem impossible to diagnose and resolve... notably a slowdown of the network (lights may take 10 seconds to turn on when a motion sensor is activated). Support have remoted to the device and are unable to diagnose the issue. The latest issue is that Fibaro motion sensors seem to just get dropped or forgotten from the HC2. They don't get set as dead nodes... they just don't register motion, and to resolve I have to delete the device and re-register. I'm having to do 1-2 of these per week which is a nightmare when having to edit all scenes etc. Most of these are on the periphery of the network. I love my HC2, and have never understood the haters, putting them down as not understanding the complexities of the system... but these latest issues are seriously making me consider Vera! Anybody got any ideas to save me having to jump ship? Thanks!
  13. Hi there, I'm building a Nextion touchscreen with a arduino ESP8266 chip. I already can start scene's from the display. I'm now struggeling with a way to communicate back. Is there someone who can tell me how to send value's from a variable in Fibaro HC2 to the arduino ESPchip? I created a webserver running on the arduino and can make different actions on it i.e. /ledon runs a led on script on the arduino. But this way i need to make a different script for every single action/value of a variable. undoable when I want to send temp or lux to the arduino. Is there a way, so yes how, to send the value of a global variable in fibaro HC2 to a global variable in the arduino. Cheers, Damien

    HC2 can’t find motion sensor

Hello! I live in Brazil and I got a HC2 working in my house, I took a vacation to US few days ago and found a motion sensor for sale. Bought it, but HC2 could not find it. It seems that they have diferent frequences, 908,4mhz in the US and 921,4 mhz in Brazil. Does anyone knows if there’s a workaround on these matter? Could be changing its frequence module (not sure if its possible) or any other stuff, please let me know. Thank you

    White page after icon upload

Hi guys, I recently purchased a home center 2. Very cool happy with it. Now I want to change some of the icons for devices. But when I upload an icon I am redirected to a completely white page and nothing happens anymore. I downloaded some new icons from this forum and checked them with photoshop if they are ok. 128x128pixels and png format. So should be okay then right? Does anyone know what I can do about it? I am using a Macbook Air 2013 model by the way.

  18. I have a lua scene that I want when the HC2 starts up. But it will not run. --[[ %% properties %% events %% globals --]] local message = 'HC2 restarted' -- Rohit fibaro:call (4, "sendEmail", message, message) -- Rajan fibaro:call (304, "sendEmail", message, message) The properties are as in the image. Any idea why ? Background - I have had continuous problems for 6 months now with all versions of firmware where the HC just does not run some scenes sometimes. The debug shows that its not busy at all. So I now have a scene that reboots it every morning at 4am. It sends me an email telling me its about to reboot. I would like one above to tell me that it has rebooted.
  19. OversætDeaktiver øjeblikkelig oversættelse The HC2 does not restart automatically after a power outage. Restart can only be activated by pressing the reset button on the back of HC2. Fibaro please fix the issues.

    Temperature reporting stopped

Helo, From one day to another, temperature reporting stopped on my devices(Danfoss RS/FGMS-001). I checked it in the event panel, it reports(motion, lux etc) everything but the temperature. Sensors are responsive to the motion, i see the correct temperature, but it does not report back to HC2. I'm using them to control my heating via linked devices..Parameters are set correctly. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Holiday Home Automation

I would like to pull ideas of how to use Fibaro Home Automation to look after my Holiday Home. I propose to put an HC-Lite in my Holiday Home and then VPN it back to my HC2. Scenes I would have is to turn on the outside lights just before sunset and at sunrise Thinking of an alarm system, ideas on Devices here, please Maybe a Door lock so I can send keys digitally and enable them for a set period. I would like this to be an area where people share ideas and maybe experiences for Holiday homes. Brent

    Alexa with limited User possible?

Hello community, I’m trying to connect an echo dot to HC2. As the dot belongs to one of my kids I’d like to give him access to the devices in his room only. therefore i’ve setup a user with limited access to specific modules in HC2. How can I now add the limited user to the Alexa Skill? I have to use a Fibaro ID user in the skill. But there I only have the main admin connected to my hc2. It’s not possible to connect multiple Fibaro IDs with the same HC2. So is Alexa an all or nothing option only? br Kro

Hi I am new here, so sorry if I post this at the wrong forum I'm using fibaro HC2 together with google home by ifttt. I have created a user who only has access to a virtual device that I send the http command to. It works fine when I using device ID directly: http://User:Password@/api/callAction?deviceID=93&name=turnOn but when i usen the button indside the virtual device, it dose not work at all: http://User:Password@/api/callAction?deviceID=201&name=pressButton&arg1=button0 and I am getting the virtual device ID from the http link: /fibaro/en/devices/virtual_edit.html?id=201 I have no idea why it dose not work, its pretty Straight froward? thanks in advance for your inputs
