Zwave device distances

Guest Kuuno

Question

Guest Kuuno

How far have you set up your devices or modules? I found somewhere that min distance should be 30cm, what happens when put closer? The topology gets mixed up...?

Thanks!

  • I squeezed two dimmers under one 2-gang switch. No issues, but the switch gets a bit warm sometimes

This is of course extreme situation, but still - it works. The same goes for series of swithes - modules are definately closer then 30 cm.

I care about antennas - I actually twist them into loose circles and rest them on the module or around inner wall, so they won't touch metal frame of the switch.

  • I have Innovus Smartdimmers placed side by side in the far end of my network. I installed them in 2007. So far no problem.
