Email with Virtual device

Guest ygh

Question

Guest ygh

Hi,

I am using the v1.046 version and there is no email functionality.

I would like to define a virtual device with a button to send an email:

- format is fixed

- address is fixed

- content is fixed

- no attachment

-> very basic

I was thinking about an HTTP query or some CGI query - Any suggestion, please

Regards,

YG

If you have a hosting, why not use a script? This is how I do with my home server

I would imagine that Kirkoff would suggest a form2mail.pl kind of solution? Which there are a lot of links for on google. Thats only if you are in a rush, otherwise .... lets see what Kirkoff's solution

I use a simple web page written in C# (IHttpHandler class) that sends different type of messages and called with http requests like this:

-Defined notification that use prepared message and called by preset number reference:

Please login or register to see this code.

    or

-Custom notification with subject and message body

Please login or register to see this code.

    or

    -Default notification

Please login or register to see this code.

But your web server is most certainly in PHP, there are hundreds of php script "ready to use" ... you can easily find one of these script on the web.

Example: create Virtual device button with code :

Please login or register to see this code.

    If do not work, try

Please login or register to see this code.

with IP and PORT in Main virtual device settings.

    Good luck

  • Hi Krikroff,

Your support is always great and so accurate !

I will try to find some PHP script with your last example for a virtual device button.

Not sure to succeed as this is getting very technical, but I will try !

You need put this file to the root of your web server.

    For example:

Please login or register to see this code.

    OR

Please login or register to see this code.

Please login or register to see this image.

    /emoticons/default_icon_mrgreen.gif" alt="" />
