/emoticons/default_icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" /> Hi,

I have a mechanic ventilation system with a perilex plug (5 pins) and a switch with 3 positions (1 (low), 2 (medieum) and 3 (high speed))

What is the best way to controle these with fibaro ?

What do i need, for instance a Relay Switch 2x1, ore something total different ?

thx

The perilex plug has 1 ground pin, 1 neutral pin and 3 load pins (L1, L2 and L3). The speed of the ventilation unit is adjusted by powering the three load pins:

Power on L1 only -> low speed

Power on L1 and L2 -> medium speed

Power on L1 and L3 -> high speed

L1 is always connected so the unit is always on (at low speed).

(You should check this in the manual of your ventilation unit, it's also possible L2 or L3 are always connected.)

So you can connect L2 and L3 to the outputs of a double relay switch for switching between medium and high speed. I think it's also possible to use the Roller shutter (FGR-221) for this perpose, but you have to adjust some parameters then.

  • gilbert: Thanks for the Tip! but how i can go back to L1 ? (how do i switch back to low speed? )

Or you can use dimmer like me.

And how did you connect this all ?

Or you can use dimmer like me.

    Dimmer?

Most Perliex systems need about 7kWh Dimmer will never.

Only option is splitting the two loads and using two Fibaro plugs...

    I would not suggest that…

I didn't know is 7kwh, I don't have big fan like that. So dimmer is not good for you.

Perilex is for is for two loads...I hope that the ventilation is not using 7kwh

There are two other methods for ventilations with two different loads.

Use Duwi Window control unit. Just need permanent power on de output

The more elegant one is the one with the remotes.

If you have a itho or one of the others with a RF remote.

Just solder some cabels to the remote and use FGS221 switch for controlling the remote.

but how i can go back to L1 ? (how do i switch back to low speed? )

In case of double relay switch:

Low speed: relay 1 and relay 2 off

    Medium speed: relay 1 on

    High speed: relay 2 on

(For my mechanic ventilation, when relay 1 and 2 are both on ventilation unit is turned to high speed)

Note that you cannot use your existing switch anymore. Instead you need 2 'normal' switches. One for medium and one for high speed. So you don't have information from the switch, about at what speed the ventilation is turned on.

In my situation I use a duoble relay switch to switch the ventilation unit between off, low speed and high speed. I connected the output of relay 1 to L1 and the output of relay 2 to L3.

Relay 1 and relay 2 off: Ventilation off (in case nobody is at home)

    Relay 1 on: low speed

Relay 1 and relay 2 on: high speed (during cooking and showering)

  • It all depends if the actual current for making the device work runs through the L1, L2 and L3. If not, and if it's only a small voltage running through to send a control signal to the ventilation system, a Fibaro universal controller could to the trick as well.

Perhaps, if possible put a small relay board in between so you can use 1 Fibaro Universal controller to control the relays which do the actual power switching.
