Hello, I wanted to program a touch of siren of less than 1 second (like when you close the car), I have tried to do this lua:

fibaro:call(32, "turnOn");

fibaro:call(32, "turnOff");

however sounds for longer than a second.

any ideas?

  • A scene is a software based item. It'll probably take a bit of time to translate the code within the various layers.

    There's a lua engine running, a HomeCenter2 engine, a Zwave Engine.. these layers take up some tenth of miliseconds probably. Then there is a zwave hardware layer, routing in the network. It could all easilly add up to about a second or just above.

    Don't forget local regulations on transmitting rules in the 868.42MHz band.

    to quote Wikipedia on european transmission rules:

    In Europe, the 868 MHz band has a 1% duty cycle limitation, thus a Z-Wave unit can only transmit 1% of the time. Z-Wave units can be in power-save mode and only be active 0.1% of the time, thus reducing power consumption substantially.

    If there's a wait state in your device and a queue of transmissions waiting, it'll easilly take a few seconds.
