Foscam 9821w no video

olegarhas

Question

Try to start working 9821W 720p Ip camera.. but no success for video streaming. All other functions works prefect (moves and jpg).

This camera supports H.264 and MJPEG. First I activate MJPEG stream as here:

Please login or register to see this link.

Then to get MJPEG stream (640*480) use: "http://192.168.1.24:88/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=123456"

That request works in browser but not for HC2. No video streaming..

In "MJPG stream path" I use: "cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=admin&pwd=123456"

Anybody can help me?

    Hi Arias,

First, thanks for this post, I have almost got it working.

I have the same problem as Olegarhas. Movement is working and I see the jpg (every 3 seconds) on the home of the hc2 but no mjpeg.

I tried different things but I can't get it to work....

We must be doing something wrong because it is working for you. Can you please help us a bit further?

Maybe our url is wrong for the mjpeg stream...

I have set the SubStream to mjpeg, is that ok?

    thanks and greetings,

    Aaron

Fibaro system no suported H264 stream, you need first change it to mjpeg on Foscam cam.

Step 1: Set one of the streams to MJPEG.

As the current chipset on the FI9821W only supports two H.264 streams (Mainstream and Substream), we need to set one of the streams to an MJPEG stream, as the chipset does not support three streams. After we set one of the streams to an MJPEG stream, we can fetch the videostream using an HTTP URL.

Here is an example URL on how to set one stream to an MJPEG stream:

Please login or register to see this link.

    address:port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?usr=admin&pwd=&cmd=setSubStreamFormat&format=1

Here “1” sets an MJPEG stream, if we don't want to set the MJPEG stream, we would set the number to “0”, “0” sets an H.264 stream.

When inputting this URL and pushing "Enter" in your browser, it will return the following result:

    0

Everything is explained in the foscam forum.
