Which vacuum robot is using fibaro (z-wave) to activate? I would like to have a vacuum robot what may be through an event Started. Maybe: fibaro - IR - vacuum robot ?

Tips ?

Thanks

  • Yes,

I'm also working on that right now. It looks like the Roomba is the best participant sofar.

It has 2 remote control options. One from the United States,

and one from the Netherlands being in the final building stages at the moment being

I'm trying to get information out of the dutch production as to how they have the remote control part done to make a solid decision and what the final pricing will be. It's still uncertain, except that it'll be sold via

As for RooWifi I already know it'll work. I've been looking over their PDF userguide and I've been in contact with the guy behind it all. There are people running these systems on Vera already. Knowing the device doesn't have build in Z-wave, I know for sure they used lua and json to read out the statusses. And they use lua with Net-FHTTP to send commands to the ajax interface inside to send the commands "CLEAN, SPOT or DOCK". Nothing really to hard about it, except the finances (roughly € 114,-).

  • Hey Dennis,

I'm getting the one from RooWifi and not Cyberhuis. Looking at the fact that the ThinkingCleaners/Cyberhuis solution doesn't have a fully productional device yet and it doesn't seem to have all the controls, RooWifi is the better choice, and RooWifi has the capability of sending the 3 major commands, it seems the other one doesn't have that just yet.

Mine is ordered and here's a posting of the domoticaforum.eu owner about his experience with the RooWifi on his 780:

    Hi All:

First Happy holidays and wish you all a great upcoming new year. I will start installing my Fibaro system in 2 weeks and I also own a Roomba 780, I just ordered the Roomwifi. I would like to know if someone already integrate the Roomba to the HC2 already? On my case I would like just to send the basic commands like the clean, stop, dock.

Thanks in advance for your reply and enjoy the holidays.

    Happy new year.

    Regards,

    Htatton.

  • Hello,

I just bought WIFI adapter for roomba

And in manual I can see that basic commands can be sent with URL

So basic control of roomba is pretty simple

I just pre-ordered the thinkingbits WiFi module

Please login or register to see this link.

. The API can be found

Please login or register to see this link.

and can be done with json. It looks like it can use all Roomba internal commands!

I love to see how the live of my 'old' Roomba 560 can be extended to a 'new' modern device..

Maybe it can be programmed to bark (beep!beep!beep!) at intruders and chase them through the house...

Vacuum cleaner is very essential or effective for our daily life. It's useful for any dust cleaning like as home, businesses, office floor, factories and other public places.

I think, roomba is possibly one of the best cleaner...

I've had 2 Roomba's and about six months ago the first one died (luckily). I bought a Neato Signature XV Pro because I wasn't really happy with the Roomba's. Having to clean the brushes every week, hair strangled in the mechanism, wheels needed tweaking and cleaning once a month, ... It's not that it took me more work than vacuuming but still, more maintenance on the Roomba than I had on a nomal Miele vacuum.

In came the Neato!!! OMG, what a difference!! No maintenance, the thing sucks instead of just brushing with the Roomba (I called the first Neato "Senor Suck" for a reason.

/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)" srcset="https://forum.fibaro.com/uploads/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> ) it is smart, doesn't bump in to things like he Roomba, pathfinding is just awesome, finds his base every time unlike the Roomba. I sold the second Roomba and bought a second Neato for the bedrooms. This time a Botvac which has a sidebrush and larger container. If I would choose between the 2 the Botvac is the way to go although the signature pro is also ALOT better than my Roomba's ever were.

  • Hey Tekvibes

But basic question is if it can work with Fibaro?

After some time of using RooWIFI I am not satisfied anymore.

Device is discharging Roomba batteries pretty fast.

And it stops responding very often. Then full reinstallation on module helps only.

This forced me to stop using this and since roomba is hidden in kitchen now noone is using it.

I was in touch with manufacturer but did not get help.

Thats why I am looking for different solution. Either supporting thinkingcleaner.com kickstarter

Please login or register to see this link.

Or looking for another cleaning robot with possibility to integrate it with Fibaro

Isn't it easier to use iTach Global cache WiFi2IR for sending IR commands to roomba? Sure you wont get feedback with status, but most important command would be "clean", everyting else just happens automaticly.

    ir commands?

then the roomba must be "in line of sight"

  • Do NOT purchase the Roowifi if you own the 780 or other Roomba's with the connector under the handle.

The print card will be visible on top of the Roomba, the handle will not go fully down, and now after 2 days in operation it ripped off the connector on the board.

Contacted Roowifi the other day for some connection help, but no reply. Will then make sure no one else purchase and end up in the same.....

vacuum that navigates to clean under furniture and around clutter. If you have a lot of chairs and furniture that you don't want to move each time you vacuum, though, the Rooma 690 is a solid pick.
