Dennis, MarkJ, this code work great for me and friends for pioneer amplifier vsx and lx series. What's the command for your amplifier ? Can you send command to your amplifier via telnet ? This code open a socket and write to it but perhaps your amplifier not work like that.

I have a complete virtual device to full control my pioneer vsx 2021k with auto update UI: zone, volume, selected input, processor, eq etc.

MarkJ, Check the port and perhaps you must enable remote support on your amplifier. (on the pioneer you must do that the first time in advanced menu of the amplifier after all work great, possible its the same on your onkyo).

If not work from your computer with telnet command the LUA script cannot work

    Try with

    ISCP000000100000000701000000!1PWR010D

Onkyo use ISCP, If it helps, the Onkyo command structure can be found here
