Switch from Vera to HC2

Guest ChrisVDD

Question

Guest ChrisVDD

Hey,

At this moment I work with Vera but I have a HC2 now. Can I copy everything that work now with Vera to HC2 ? Or do I have to reset all my Fibaro switches ? If possible, can someone explain how I have to do that ?

Thanks in advance,

Christophe

Chris, i have done it a few days ago. Switched all my devices from my Vera lite to HC2. Over three days i have had the Vera AND the HC2 online and moved sensor / actor step by step from Vera to the HC2.

Exclude the devices properly from the Vera. Press the "-" at the Vera, press the button at the device and take a look at Veras Messages -> the device is realy removed if Vera says "remove unknown node" (to be shure press the button at the device 3 or 4 times and take a look at the Messages).

Then press "reload" at Vera, and the device is deleted automatically from Veras Dashboard also. This worked perfect for me.

But after some devices included at the HC2 (you get a message to change the poll intervall) and somes hours of operation you have maybe a lot of dead devices.

Activate the nodes and go one ...After 24-36 h of operation the z-wave network is more stable. I think this is due the reorganization of the z-wave chips routing table (i think FIBARO use only the z-wave routing implemented in the z-wave chips, at Vera you can choose z-wave routing OR Vera routing (Vera routing is default)).

After the whole migration i have sometimes dead nodes and a decreased range and a lot of packet loss. I am working on it to figure it out.

You find some information here in the Forum that FIBARO says that is due the bad Firmware of the Everspring modules. I removed now all Everspring modules.

Have fun and luck.

  • Isn't it possible to add HC2 as secondary to Vera and then transfer primary?

I have done that a couple of times with my Z-Wave network.
