Sample script to get variables as home, night, day, morning

MSB

Question

I have one global device which checks if MAC-adresses of iphones are found on the DD-wrt router firmware. (best way I found since iPhones disconnects from network when idle, but is kept on dd-wrt page while on premises even if it can't be pinged).

Code for the globaldevice:

Please change MAC for your iphone(s) from 00:00:00:00:00:00 / 01 if you only have one you need to remove second condition. Also be sure to change address from 10.0.0.1 to the IP of your DD-wrt router.

Second script makes use of unix time to make out if it is day or night or eveing or morning. And it also pushes the iphone check. It has one extra function that checks the powerusage on an device to see if you are watching tv so as to not turn off lights if your are watching tv later than "nighttime" (time when lamps should go off). This way you will not have to fumble in the dark when going to bed.
