Hello,

is there somewhere a ranking of the best (pan/tilt-) cameras working with HC2?

Please login or register to see this image.

/emoticons/default_icon_eek.gif" alt="" />

Depends of what you need... (indoor/outdoor, PoE, resolution, wired/wireless, bucks to spend)

Sorry, but NO: I have a cam (7Links) but it doesn't work with HC2. The best cam (indoor/outdoor, with PoE, high resolution, wired/wireless and bucks to spend) is never mind when it doesn't work with the HC2.

I'm just looking for a D-Link DCS-5222L. I hope (and I read), that it will work with no problems.

But thank you for the quick response!

As far I can tell the Foscam work in general and are money well spend. The only disadvantage is that it doesn't show a picture in the android (I don't know for Apple) App.

I, for example, use a Foscam FI9821W V2. If I want to see whats happening on my mobile I use DS Cam, a Synology Surveillance app. My camera's are using the surveillance package which is included in a Synology NAS.

Cannot get video stream from Foscam FI9826W - unfortunately. Cool cam with better video quality compared to dlink 5222L.

/emoticons/default_icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" />

Doesn't the 9821W V2 settings work? Did you activate the MJ-stream?

Foscam FI9821W V2 (PTZ, Firmware version (system): 1.4.1.5):

JPG URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

MJPG stream URL: cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Turning left URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzMoveLeft&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Turning right URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzMoveRight&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Turning up URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzMoveUp&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Turning down URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzMoveDown&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Stop movement URL: cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=ptzStopRun&usr=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

(Change 'USER' and 'PASSWORD' with your camera login data)

EDIT 19-01-2014: When a firmware is updated the GetMJStream command may fail. You have to 'setup' the MJStream function first by using this URL command in your webbrowser:

FI8910E

3.951Alpha

used default settings

added (&user=USER&pwd=PASSWORD) to the end of LEFT,RIGHT, UP,DOWN, STOP.

Example:

JPG: snapshot.cgi

MJPG:video.cgi

Left:decoder_control.cgi?command=6&onestep=5&user=USER&pwd=PASSWORD

Now, I just need to figure out how to get video/control on my android devices. I can see the device, but no video.

Regarding Hikvision, try these URLs:

Snapshot URL:

Please login or register to see this link.

MJPEG stream URL:

Please login or register to see this link.

Please note: You must set the 2nd stream (substream) to Motion JPEG (MJPEG) for this to work.

EDIT: I have tried one Hikvision camera, it worked in the web interface but no luck in Android phone app or iPad app.

It doesn´t work for my Foscam FI8918W

Maybe I didn´t fill in the correct data

Please login or register to see this image.

/emoticons/default_icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

On the first page with general settings of the camera - do I have to fill in the USER of the video camera and the password of the camera (so I did) or some http-adress of my dyn-dns service?

On the second page with the advanced settings - do I have to fill in the IP-adress only or the port as well; i.e. :80 ?

I think I found the correct settings for my Foscam FI8910W now.

Please login or register to see this image.

/emoticons/default_icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":-D" />

Unfortunately I still have no video because I dont´t know how to set one of the streams to MJPEG. I found an URL for the FI9821W in this forum, but it didn´t work for my Foscam FI8910W.

Does anyone know how to fetch the MJPEG URL stream here?

Maybe there ist no way to use my cam within Fibaro HC2

Please login or register to see this image.

/emoticons/default_icon_cry.gif" alt="" />

Just another question: Which cam - similar to the Foscam model and not to expensive but with steering functionality - would be recommended to work right out of the box with my HC2? Maybe it is easier to sell my old camera and buy a new one...

Especially for outdoor use...

Foscam FI8906 is also OK.

Hi,

I've got a customer with Foscam FI8906W and he is reporting it's not working for him in the Android app and remotely over home.fibaro.com. It works in the local web interface in Firefox though.

JPEG: snapshot.cgi

MJPEG: videostream.cgi (the original URL for Foscam, i.e. video.cgi, did not work at all)

HC Lite running 3.590

Any ideas?

Could anybody recommend me a fixed (bullet) outdoor camera with IR illumination which is guaranteed to work with the current Fibaro version (something with which you have hands-on experience).

It must work:

  • Locally in Fibaro web interface (in Firefox and/or Chrome).
  • Remotely in Fibaro web interface (in Firefox and/or Chrome).
  • In Fibaro Android application.
  • In Fibaro iPad application.
  • In Fibaro iPhone application.

I have two Vivotek IP8332 and they fulfill your requirements. Quite good picture quality as well. The only weak point I've found is that they can't notify using http calls on motion detection, so I've had to create a more complex solution with polling a directory where the camera stores a snapshot when motion is detected.

Just installed Opticam FI8918W (related to Foscam FI8918W I guess) and it works like a charm.

Only thing I would like to have is that under camera controls (direction arrows) could be few user assignable buttons, because many cameras do have option to save camera positions to memory. It would be easy to drive camera on wanted position by clicking a button below camera image, it would only need to be able to save urls just like the urls are for camera movements.

Also it would be nice to drive cameras on wanted positions on security breach - when door 1 is breached, camera would use url A for positioning, door 2 -> camera position to url B and so on.

Hello there,

I have a problem with my IP camera Vstarcam T7838WIP.

I found videostream URL in database (

Please login or register to see this link.

), but my Fibaro HCL can view only low quality URL (VGA 640x480). Also, i have a big delay, loss some packages and periodically damaged picture.

I think, that if i would use HD720 quality with H264 compression - these problems must disappear. I am right?

If anybody know something about it, send me please URL for HD720 quality videostream (JPEG and MJPEG picture) and adress for some PTZ commands (move right, left, up, down and stop).

Thank you.

Any1 got a Foscam FI9826W working? Thinking of getting this model but would rather like to 'know' that it can be used together with Fibaro system and also Android app before plunging down that road.

EDIT: I bought the FI9831W and have it up'n'running except the MJPG stream URL.

This means I can move it in all directions (up/down/right/left and also take snapshots and sent via mail). However no MJPG stream whatsoever (tried with Chrome/Firefox and IE).

Also tried this but no success

As everything else seems ok I'm assuming that the lack of streaming response ought to be due to that the subStream isn't correctly set.

When entering the following in a browser (FF);

Please login or register to see this code.

I get the following response;

I would assume this to mean that something did not go as it should?

Within the FOSCAM camera settings I found the following:

Sub stream video settings

Stream Type:0

Resolution:VGA(640*480)

Bit Rate:512K

Frame Rate:15

Key Frame Interval:45

Even if I change the 'Stream type' within the camera settings to '1', this doesn't make any difference?

EDIT: SOLVED!

Seemed that the pwd used included non-valid characters (from a URL perspective), thus the

returned 0 and the stream could be received.

Can some one confirm, if below models work perfectly with HC2/HCL.

D-LINK

DCS-930L

DCS-932L

DCS-933L

I have 933L, it only gives video in small thumb nail, when enlarged. It shows blank screen

in Android and ios. I tried varying image size settings. Nothing worked.

I have tried many cameras with Fibaro Home Center, Foscam, D-Link, and other unknown brands, but until now I have not found any camera better VStarcam. She fluid images and I have never had any problems with the configuration of my clients, and then the video quality is much better, and the price is acceptable. For example, D-Link that I paid a fortune, has decidedly bad images, and the server is very slow, and I had often delays display with Home Center Fibaro, and often have problems with my clients, where I had replace it. Foscam also did not give me the desired satisfaction, and the image quality is very poor, then these models with Fibaro Home Center I often had blackouts, and I tell you this on a very wide audience of customers. I've tried various models instead VStarcam, satisfied customers and a percentage I had 70% fewer problems. If you want to have a look on the various models www.vstarcam.ch visit.
