Control several RGBW modules from one dimmer

phoebe

Question

I have several RGBW modules and try to control them in parallel with one dual-paddle battery operated switch.

The problem is that while dimming different light intensity is set-up on modules. I know that the commands sent to modules are Start/Stop dimming. I suppose, due to some little difference in internal speed/sync of modules, different level is set up in modules. I tried to play with params 8/9/10/11 but with no luck.

Have anyone had the same problem and solution?

  • They say (in manual) that the associations are working only on activating inputs on RGBW module.

Through an association Fibaro RGBW Controller may control

another Z-Wave network device, e.g. another RGBW Controller,

Wall Plug, Dimmer, Relay Switch or Roller Shutter. Such a control

is done via switch keys connected to I1-I4 outputs only. Operation

through the Z-Wave network doesn't trigger the associated

    devices.

  • phoebe, the most accurate way to mimic state on 2nd RGBW is to use scene that will copy its state. Is it HCL or HC2?

It's HCL currently, but it would be good to have solution for HC2(to be used in future) also.

I would also like to achieve the same across 2-3 RGBW devices to keep them all in sync when they switch on automatically in the evening - and if a different colour or pattern is selected they all need to be kept in sync.

     what was the solution?

    I'm running a HC2 (v4.090)

I've just noticed in the v4.091 beta firmware there is now support for:

    - Multiple RGBW devices can be grouped and controlled as one (both with interface and physical switches). Integration is possible in Advanced Configuration of one of RGBW Controllers

No longer just physical IN switches!
