Fibaro binary sensor for temperature reading

Stealth

Recommended Posts

I have a Fibaro binary sensor with a DS18b20 connected for reading temperature. I'm concerned that if the temperature sensor gets disconnected or fails the temperature sits at the last read level.  This is a problem for me as any heating could remain on if it fails when the reading is low and heat is called for.

Is there a way I can I can configure the sensor to fail to a error state, say to 255 deg C?

Thanks

No configuration possible. Also note that with the present firmware there are random errors in the temperature reporting. So you should guard against these errors too. Usually they are different enough (e.g. 4000 degrees) to get noticed, but I am not certain that e.g. 50 degrees would be correct or a random error.

  • Oh that's not good to hear....  Is there another z-wave temperature sensor solution I could use with my HC2? (Maybe a non Fibaro module option?).  For me temperature readings need to be rock solid or have some kind of error checking to be useful.

    Thanks
