Hi everybody!

I would like to get some help from you, experienced guys in Fibaro and home automation systems. I will start with Fibaro project in my house, but in some aspects I can't find solution even after one week of googleing. If anyone here has will to help I will be thankful for that.

My problems

/emoticons/default_sad.png" alt=":(" srcset="https://forum.fibaro.com/uploads/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

1. How I can install 10 IP cameras and connect them on Fibaro HC Lite or HC2, without any issues? Also if you have something to recommend (camera) for night and day vision with good picture quality say so.

2. How can I attach any TV or radio on my Fibaro HC Lite or HC2 without making virtual devices and implementing LUA codes etc.? Is there any other more simple way? I still don't know which kind of TV I'm going to get, but I wouldn't like to be limited in choosing them because of Fibaro.

3. How I can make, that my coffee machine makes me a coffee through Fibaro if it has a lot of functionalities and it is impossible to setup how strong coffee I want or what amount of coffee do I want etc. The only way to do so is just to preset and prepare coffee machine and to turn it off or on when I press some virtual button on my mobile phone. But it can be tricky.

4. How I can run my AC unit and setup its temperature set point through Fibaro? Same story was told for TV, I don't want to use only some of the AC's I want to know some universal solution for all types.

Relay module, dimmer, roller shutters, door/window sensors, flood sensors, thermostats etc. are pretty much understandable to me, so with lights, blinds, windows, heating I do not have any particular problems, but with above mentioned....well, yes, I do have

I don't see a question in your post. You answered everything yourself: "I can't find solution even after one week of googleing".

Regarding camera's, a friend of mine is a real security guy. He's got loads of experience with Mobotix. But he uses it as a separate system. Ten camera's counts as "professional system" for me...

My sound system is SONOS. I don't really use the (limited) controls in the Fibaro app. I need the SONOS app for control anyway.

I don't think you're being ignored... It's only there aren't any (good) answers... Now other forum members can prove me wrong

    1) proffessional or not depends probably on what you need exactly but for home get a synolgoy + 10x hikvision bullet cameras. Best price to quality ration i think

2)dont be afraid of lua codes. just get someone to make a nice virtual device that suits you. or get a sony or samsung smart TV. BUT firstly confirm w fibaro which models are ok. For audio use sonos as stated before, again very good price, quality, options choise

3)get a machine that can be controlled over lan or use relays for making preconfigured button presses...

4)get a itach wifi or itach lan IR adapter and teach the necessary ir codes. works well for AC's, TV's and so on. (you can use the same device to control your new tv but with no feedback!)

everything can be done! just depends how much you want it...

I agree... let's not forget that software version 4 is still changing. And... It's difficult to assess what plutonium's expectations of performance and reliability are...

I like your suggestion, Kuuno, you would use the Synology for music storage for your Sonos, maybe store some video too. And, of course, backups of your macbook pro

  • Thank you guys!

    1) I would need cameras for monitoring my home entrance, corners of the yard and the same in my garage. Around 8-9 cameras. So, your suggestion is to take synolgoy + 10x hikvision bullet cameras. Now my question is how can I attach it to work with Z-wave and Fibaro? Is there some manual?

    2) Yes, for Sonos i found solution. There are plugins for HC2 and HCL and it is not a problem anymore. So, there is not some universal device which could be used for ANY TV?

    3) Clear enough

    4) For A/C there is Remotec IR controller specially designed for A/C units. I can use these. Is there anything else?

I want to find all possible solutions

I have in my house underfloor heating with 5 separated circuits. How I can control each of them separately?

I would like to put 5 thermostats (5 rooms) and control temperature of each room separately. Do I need electromagnetic valves on the beginning of the heating circuit and then to connect relay actuator on it? But how can I control it not to be more than 38C in the floor which is the highest allowed temp in the floor as far as I know?

    Advices, please.

    Thanks!

    • 2 weeks later...

The water temperature should be controlled by the Mixing valve before it goes to Manifold. I presume you have one pump and 5 loops.

Actuators for floor-heating should be around 20€ and you can control 2 at the time with "Relay Switch 2x1.5kW FGS221" it works with 220V or 24V depends which actuators you buy.

So for 5 circuits you would need 3 FGS221  which leaves you with one relay to control the pump.

Z-wave actuators are for Radiators and measure room temperature - no use for Danfoss. Maybe Stella-Z Eurotronic but it is not supported by Fibaro.

I control also mixing valves with "Roller Shutter FGRM-222".

Room temperatures you can measure with door sensors, Motion sensor,... or 4 temperatures with Universal sensor.

In Panels > Linked devices > Heating, you create Room, set thermometer and Actuator that will control it. For all 5.

You'll need to create a Script that if any of Actuators is On turn the Pump On.

    As for 38C water:

More important is the temperature of the floor (not sure but shouldn't be more than 24C - and it is quite unpleasant if it is too hot)

I start Forward water at 50C then lower it down ending at 28C - depend on temperature difference between Forward and Return water temperature and temperature in the room.

    Simple.
