Help configuring a RTSP IP camera in HC2

speedy

Question

Hi.

I bought a camera for testing purposes.

Problem: Cant get videostream to appear in HC2

I get a videostream working in VLC from :

RTSP://HC2_IP:554/av0_0 = Main stream

RTSP://HC2_IP:554/av0_1 = Sub stream

I use a MPEG stream with 720P resolution.

How can i configure a generic camera device to display the picture properly?

(Ive tried for hours)

Does HC2 support H264?

Thanks!

Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is a network control protocol designed for use in entertainment and communications systems to control streaming media servers. It's a bit more advanced than MJPEG/JPEG support which browsers can handle natively.

I too was hoping for RTSP support in HC2 to cater for some Hikvision kit i'm testing.

As said previously, HC uses MJPEG stream over HTTP, other solutions are yet to be introduced, but not in any of soonest updates.

I think it is still very important to find new solutions , and that sooner , I don't know Fibaro's Roadmap but mjpeg streaming is not that supported anymore by different browser or software .

It is also on our to do list, we are aware of decreasing availability of devices using this standard on the market.

    Hi All.

I have just bought some HikVision 3MP POE cams and these work just great with the following MJPG streams: -

    /Streaming/channels/102/picture
    /Streaming/Channels/102/httpPreview

Only issues is that when you set stream 2 to use MJPEG, the application on my phone (Mobile Eye by HikVision) to view remotely only works with H.264 profile so works on HC2 but not on it's own mobile application.

If H.264 was introduced, this would solve this issues.

Lets hope it gets coded in ASAP.

    Thanks,

    Hi all,

i have bought a UPCAM Cyclone HD (RTSP H.264 CAM - without mpeg-stream-support)

First i have the same problem - fibaro hcl doesn't support rtsp streams.

But then, I ask the upcam support for a solution.

    The solution was simple.

The camera pushes every second a snapshot in a special folder - path:

When i use this path in my HCL it works very fine for me.

  • Hello all.

    Thanks for all the answers.

    I now use a Keekoon 720P KK002 camera.

Its wired and wireless with pan and tilt ability.

I use CGI commands to control the camera so everything works with Fibaro HC and app.

Just a tip if someone wants to know about a nicely priced camera for home use.

Any news on when this would be implemented?

@j.nowacki any progress in this field? Has the HC3 support for h.264/h.265?
