Add secondary HC controller

Hi,

Currently i am using HCL as the controller for the z wave devices.

I intend to buy a Home Center 2 (Hc2). Is it possible to make HC2 as the main controller and HCL (home center lite) as the secondary controller?

Will I able to control the devices connected to HCL using HC2?

Yes, you can link them up like that, however, you can only do that if you do not upgrade your HC2 to newer version than your HCL.  Once you upgrade to version 4.xxx which is the current release for HC2, the gateway functionality will stop working.

Not nice at all! Why is that?

It is because the different versions of software are just not compatible when it comes to linking different units together. That's perfectly understandable and natural. What is not so natural, is the fact that there's no version 4.xxx available for the LHCite

Hey give Fibaro some credit. We have all told Fibaro that V 4.xxx for HC2 is not at a stage where they can afford to let it be. Fibaro should use all of their resources to fix "this beta" and make it stable before pursuing other issues period.

Yup, I wholeheartedly agree with you there. However, if getting the v.4 to play nice is going to take another 6 months to a year, I would not mind them implementing a backwards compatibility into it along the way so we could use our Lite units as slaves again. Just so they would not have to sit on the shelf, gathering dust.

Yep, i totaly agree with you guys, but just imagine what we have to tell to the dear customer when intalling such a system: "This product worked before, but it is no longer working because of the newest firmware", or " well it works now, but not all of its functions". Fibaro is a good system but there are products that work better with Vera or Zipato and the clients with money want all, and they want it like NOW
