Question

I have an Itach ip to serial converter. I need to be able to send out serial commands to control various AV equipment. The Itach comes with a test application, and the serial commands that I use, work.

In HC2 I create a virtual device, use the right IP and port (4999 for serial 1). When I create buttons, and add the serial codes there, it does not seem to work. Does anyone have a clue on how to do this?

The serial code is !1PWR01, which works in the ITach testapplication. I tried it with the carriage return:

!1PWR01

0x0D

But nothing happens..

  • Can you try append to end of string "0x0D0x0A"?

Its possible, but you need migrate to LUA script.

Example (for sending command to Z-Wave API). Only rename variables, put your ports and IP, and new data for GET request

Great, thank you! I will experiment with this a.s.a.p. Do you have any idea on how to add spaces to rs232 codes? My cd player needs "W 1 1" as code, which works in the Itach testapplication. But I cannot get it to work with the HC2....
