Question

Hello,

Newbee problem:

I have some lights on the frontside of my house (vet practice).

It switches on in the evening and off in the morning.

I get an email if the status changes.

Is it possible to get an email with the text: "lights are switched on" when the module for the lights are switched on

AND an email with the text: "lights are switched off" when the module for the lights is switched off.

I can only find the possibility to get an email if the module is switched off OR on OR a status change.

I saw that the module is not responding every time it was triggered, so it would be even better if you can make a scene that

is triggered when the lights are switched off, that checks the status of the module and send an email with that status.

Is that possible?

That would be a way to be sure that the intended action has been successful.

(If they did this kind of check, the disaster at Harrisford would not have happened).

But there was no Fibaro at that time.

Kind regards, John

Of course you can set up scene like that. If you have HC2 the best idea would be the Lua scene, that will turn light off, then wait for them to be actually turned off (in a loop) and finally send message with error massage or success communication.

  • Hello,

Thank you for you fast answer.

I did not do anything with lua, but do have experience with Arduinoprogramming.

Is there an example or a tutorial about that subject.

    Kind regards, John

You can make a block-scene and convert this scene to lua or you have a look at developer.fibaro.com. Best ways to learn it
