how to associate 2 dimmers

Guest azevenhuizen

Question

Guest azevenhuizen

I have a dimmer 2 controlling a led above the dinning room.

Now I want to place an additional switch on the other side of the room, but cannot run a cable.

So I have a dimmer 1 left over, which I would like to install there and associate this dimmer 1 to the other dimmer 2.

All works fine now, but now it comes to the proper settings.

Both control switches should have the same result on the light, meaning they should sync somehow.

At the moment if I dim the led on 1 switch and then change the level on the other the led first flashes or even switches of.

Anyone done this before and have some general approach on how to start with this?

cheerz,

Arno

We tested this kind of configuration a few months ago but yes, you can not dim the way you want with the second dimmer. I mean, when you use the second dimmer with a momentory switch (as far as i can remember it was connected to S1 and not to S2), and hold it in order to dim, the master or primary dimmer starts from 0 and then goes up. When you try to dim it back it work ok. I suppose this is how it works and we tryed different settings but the this was the only way to make them both work together... I hope that it helps...
