I address this question to Hikvision IP camera users.

I've bought camera: DS-2CD2120F-IWS

Please login or register to see this link.

I set up MJPG second stream. I use url like this:

Please login or register to see this link.

... (tried many similar)

Main problem. First connection work fine. But when I try to watch stream from second device(or second tab in browser). Camera returns me error xml.

<requestURL>/Streaming/channels/1/preview</requestURL>
<statusCode>4</statusCode>
<statusString>Invalid Operation</statusString>
</ResponseStatus>

1. Please tell me, do you have such problem?
2. I didn't find any info about such limitation in documentation.
3. I updated firmware.
4. Is it possible to turn of such limitation?

Hi

I have a Hikvision DS-2CD3132-I and I remember I had same issue as you when first setting up. I just kept fiddling with settings, and the issue is no more for me. I can't remember what I did but my streaming paths are different to yours, so maybe try these?

JPG path: Streaming/channels/102/picture

MJPG path: Streaming/channels/1/httppreview

  • Thank you for feedback.

Unfortunately I spent several hours trying to check different URL's. Yes I tried yours path too. Result the same.

Probably I bought cheapest hikvision camera with such possibilites, and this is limitation for such model. But I didn't find any information about it in manual, manufacturer's site and forums..

  • Let me share some experience about hikvision cameras.

In general they are very good quality products but I can't use such cameras in my smart home.

I tried several models and no one of them supports more then one mjpg stream.

*If you try to open video on second phone - it doesn't work*.

There is one important thing. Fibaro App, switches to JPG mode, when MJPG isn't available. So video stream is shown but with super low FPS (1 frame per 1-2 seconds).

And one more. Sometimes if you quickly switch between cameras on one device, you also will have problems with MJPG.

I decided to skip Hikvision cameras at all..

tried on serveral phones and laptop and extrenal no problems

    JPG path: Streaming/channels/1/picture

    MJPG path: Streaming/channels/1/httppreview

  • Could you please do simple test?

    1. Use Firefox

    2. Open 2 tabs

    3. Open in first tab with

Please login or register to see this link.

    to camera>/Streaming/channels/1/httppreview

    4. Open in second tab with

Please login or register to see this link.

    to camera>/Streaming/channels/1/httppreview

And clarify do you see stream at same time on two tabs?

  • Thanks for your test!

Usually customer doesn't see problems because Fibaro App switches from MJPG to JPG.
But in JPG mode framerate is very low.

Funny thing: Hikvision techsupport didn't help me at all. They just confirmed: "Yes camera supports only one stream..".

But I didn't find any word about it in documentation.

As for me, better choice - dahua cameras. They don't have such limitation.

Hikvision don't support only one stream. See the documentation.

Maybe you have very low model.

I test it yesterday with 4 Fibaro apps (iPad x 2 and Android phones x 2) in the same time. It works:)

Exact same problem here: had 2 different Hikvision cameras (DS-2CD2532F-IWS, DS-2CD2Q????dont remember) - only 1 MJPEG stream. Had to give it back since could not find a solution.

Emailed Hikvision support - no answer at all.

Retailer proposes Dahua as a replacement as well.

In my opinion the best way is to use ivms or another android app. There you can see full resolution and it work perfect.

Since Fibaro don't implement h264 it will be the best way. None of my customers use fibaro for cameras. Only for doorbel sometimes.

I totally agree with you. But this is clear to us - installers of smart home systems. But it's very hard to explain to customer, why he bought hardware and it doesn't work properly in some cases..

I don't have problem with my customers. I told it before I sell cameras and fibaro. Sometimes my customers want cameras in fibaro. I always set aslo normal connection in ivms and ip cam viewer. After a month when I ask my customer about cameras: he/she always use ivms or ip cam viewer:)

I always install nvr so they can't see recored video in fibaro. They must use ivms.

If someone don't want nvr they can buy cheap ptz mjpeg camera:)
