Got some screenshot etc of the Siemens integration... I do think the DSC or Satel stuff in Fibaro is good enough from what i have read on forum.

What capabilities do you have with it? ability to dd variables for alarm state? trigger lights etc...

  • I have found some data... thanks anyway

That's the one and greta support from Goran.

The reason I went this route is because I wanted a conventional alarm (with batt backup, keypads, etc) in case my HC2 went down but I also wanted some exposure via the HC2. I can see status of all sensors, zone status, I can set, unset, nightset, etc through the HC2 scenes. All these are mirrored in realtime to the HC2.

I use the alarm sensors to trigger autolights in rooms at nightime, I also use them to determine occupancy. Everything is http-api based so I can pull it into my OpenRemote panels. There is also some additional info I can get on demand through the api such as zone isolation and inhibits. With these and occupancy I'm working on an AUTOALARM scene so if we forget to set the alarm, the house will determine the lack of occupancy and try and set away mode itself and even if a window is open it will inhibit that and set away mode anyway. The SPC gateway has proven to be very stable.

I also created a VD to show the basic status.

  • Where did you buy yours?

I have the SPC4320 and it was bought locally and installed by a Alarm Specialist.

It was the only part of my automation setup that I didn't install myself.

I didn't know they had a forum, must check that out.....thanks

The Uni equipment is fantastic, very robust and reliable, It makes the regular wifi gear look like rubbish

Why did you go with the Pro equipment, did you need the extra range ?

Their switch is fantastic but I had bought the PoE hubs before the AP/USG

     they look  very robust..

I think the dedicated AP are streets ahead of the regular domestic equipment that have to be bridged

I have a box full of netgear routers in the garage that make better paper weights

I think we are going off-topic here...not sure if Fibaro will make noise about it.

Went for the PRO due to throughput (it's a 3x3 instead of 2x2 for the Lite/LR) and its range is pretty decent (not losing to LR).

Totally agree on the part where UAPs (price point & functionalities) just make those SOHO-class APs looks like rubbish.
