Dimmer with 2 key switch configurations

donL

Question

I managed to install Fibaro Dimmer with 2 key toggle switch (on/off) - partly.

Question 1:

Currently key no1 turns both lights on and key no2 has no impact. Both S1 and S2 wires are connected. Is it possible to configure dimmer so that key no1 turns on/off the other lamp and key no2 turns on/off another?

Question 2:

Is it possible to configure dimmer to operate only in certain time of day (only daytime?)? How?

Thanks in advance!

Answer to qestion 1:

RTFM! Quote from manual: "Switch connected to the S1 terminal is a master switch. It activates the basic functionality of the Dimmer 2 (turning the light on/off, dimming) and starts the learning mode (Add/Remove). The switch connected to the S2 terminal is an optional switch and pushing it without changing the configuration parameters will not affect the status of the device. Functionality of the switches can be reversed by adjusting advanced parameter (see „Advanced parameters” on page 22)."

Answer to question 2:

Did you include dimmer to your gateway? If you did, then writing some scenes would be solution to your request. But of course your question is not clear what you really want, to disable dimmer during day so that it can't be operated with switch or something else? But why do you need to disable dimmer during day time??

Although my dimmer is (the original) Dimmer, not Dimmer 2. It's manual differs slightly from Dimmer 2 manual and you may understand (if you're desperate enough) that there is chance to change behaviour of S2 by changing configuration.

    Q2:

You're right. Probably a scene with LUA code is the way to go. My aim is that certain lamps can not be switched on in the children room in night time (using regular wall switch).

Q2 that can't be done with just one dimmer. You need to physicality separate the circut where the switch is connected and the circut that controls the light.

    Since you did RTFM

If you want to control two different lights from that wall switch box then you need to use two dimmers, one for each light. In addition if you want to disable one of the lights then you need one more relay module to do that which will be operated only with HC but relay modules need both wires neutral and live and not all wall switch boxes have them. Another problem is that wall switch boxes are usually not big enough to place three modules behind switches.

But idea you have is feasible!

One way to make room for the second and third one is to let the S2 button control a remote dimmer, that you put somwhere close to the light source, like in the roof box. The relay module would the sit after that, controlled for HC2 directly

Now I'm trying to do this my self, having S2 button to control a remote RGB dimmer, but I can't seem to make this happend, anyone have any input on this?

    Setup:

Dimmer 2 with 2 button momentary switch, S1 driving the dimmer, all ok.

S2 cabeled, and ready to roll but the only parameter I find for S2 is parameter 26.

Parameter 26The function of 3-way switch
Key no. 2 controls the Dimmer additionally (in 3-way switch mode). Function disabled for parameter 20 set to 2 (roller blind switch).
