puzzler - gv setting to normal instead of night or day

AutoFrank

Question

Hi folks,

I have a bit of a puzzler. I have a scene that sets to global variables based on light level from a sensor (device 217 )

The two options within the code are either 'day' or 'night' but sometimes it gets set to 'normal'

Could anybody offer an explanation

Scene code below...

Thanks

Frank

Just a thought but is the global variable you are referring to a "Predefined Variable" or just a regular "Variable"? I have sometimes noticed strange things when trying to store non-numerical values in a regular global variable, maybe convert it to a predefined and see if it helps?

  • Interesting thought.. it's a 'regular' variable, I could try and predefined. I have many variables and this is the only one that exhibits this behaviour. I could also add a check and rerun the scene if one gets set to normal.

    thanks

You better check if there is some other scene or VD with reference to same global variables. I'am playing with my HC2 now for almost a year and whenever happened something unexpected or wrong I was the source of the problem .

  • good point Sankotronic, I'll have a quick search and see if the problem is between the seat and the keyboard :-)
