A while ago I saw that zwave india sold a device that works with HC2.

I thought it was named I-SPEAK but i'm not sure of that.

HC can sent some spoken messages

I can't find it anymore but i'd like to have something like this.

Any suggestions ?

I use Sonos multiroom speakers with Krikroff's VD and voice RSS text to speech (TTS) service and it is working like a charm.

Sonos vd and RSS works great just hate the delays! The way fibaro vd is implemented seems to be the heart of the problem.

FYI, I use a Athom Homey with a scene to send commands. Works like a charm, without delay.

If you don't want to buy versatile Homey controller that speaks English and Dutch only for 299€ nor you want to spend 229€ for Sonos 1 speaker that can play music and speak in many languages including Croatian, then maybe you already have some old PC collecting dust that can still run windows or you can spent few bucks for new one and try this:

  • So I sent an email to zwave india to ask why they don't offer Iplay anymore on their webshop.

And this is what they said :

    Dear Sir,

It is not available in stock now.

Available on pre orders with minimum order qty of 10pcs.

    I'm not a reseller !

Why do I have to buy 10 pcs. ?

I Have an iPlay. I didn't like it much and it was only good for bluetooth, so range was an issue. It's currently in a cupboard not being used. If you weren't in Belgium or if I was heading to Belgium I'd give it to you :)

I use Sonos now and it is a good solution, although I am still waiting for the Fibaro solution ( vapourware ? )

  • alandee,

That's very kind of you, i'm on my way to Australia :-):-).

What didn't you like about it ? Only the bluetooth issue ? That's no problem for me.

But when when you're not satisfied about the whole thing then i thank you again for not make me buying one :-)

I only need a thing that speaks recorded voices i really don't want to use voicecommands.

    Thx alandee

Hello, is there some solution for HC3? I was using this VD on HC2, but I didnt find any solution for HC3 QA for Sonos (via VoiceRSS...)

    Thank you.

    Hi @Jiri Dobsovic ,

    Just go here:

    Above solution require

Please login or register to see this link.

For long time i was using solution from @Krikroff that works directly with Sonos, but above solution with node-sonos-http-api is providing more options and works much faster with TTS messages.

If you still want solution for HC3 that does not need configuration of Raspberry PI or other docker solution then check this, but be aware that those solutions do not support TTS, at least for now:

I was looking for solution with as low impact on HC3 load as possible.

The @Sankotronic solution is great, but I only use e few different messages to play on my Sonos devices.

    I use:

I have short MP3 recordings on a local webserver that I play via LUA.

    fibaro.call(709"setVolume""50")
    fibaro.call(709"playFromUri""http://192.168.2.53/mp3/Deurbel.mp3""meta")

Load impact on HC3 is very low 😊

do you still use Krikroff's VD or are you now using alexa-google ?
Cause i have HC3 and i'm using alexa and i'm wondering if there´s something 'better'

You don't need Sonos...although i have it, and it is an absolutely fantastic system.. (SONOS ARC + SONOS SUB GEN 3, and 2pcs of SONOS ERA 300 for surround. Superb combo )

Anyway, i am using Raspberry and google nest speakers.

Works like a charm, and is cheap. Also, i have created functionality that allows me to just simple trigger a spoken message through Google speakers from simple Block scenes if I want.

    Following this logic

    1. Select a trigger

    2. Set the text that we want to get broadcasted /saving it to global variable

    3. Sending it to a function that sends it to raspberry

    4. Raspberry casts it to speakers
