NO MORE REMOTE ACCESS ON 3.6

virgojavier

Question

Dear All

Quick info for people still using STABLE Firmware 3.6. On the 13th of December Fibaro performed so called maintenance activity, which was aiming Remote Access improvements. Since that day I have lost the remote access. It took a week to get an info from Fibaro about what's going on. Today I received an email from so called "Technical Support" saying that Remote Access will not work anymore on Firmware 3.6... Using that kind of a tricky practice Fibaro managed to force me to update to latest firmware which in my and many other users is still NOT STABLE! Well done Fibaro! Time to switch to different z-wave central unit...

Can someone still being on firmware 3.6 could confirm this that it also doesn't work in his case?

Yep, i'm also on 3.600 and no remote connection can be established. (i get, when i succesfully login with username and password at

Please login or register to see this link.

, that there is "No communication with the main controller, remote access is currently unavailable" when swipping with cursur above "settings" icon).

What do they mean with "CURRENTLY"???????

Unfortunally for me it's a NOGO to update to a later version then 3.600. (a couple of scene's/devices won't work after 3.600, i have tried it -several updates- to know for sure.. But the only option for me is a restore to FW 3.600)

But IF,  you want remote access staying on 3.600 you can do the following; (NOTE: i don't recommend ->  i hope that Fibaro will restore the broken connection )

Just for testing, you can try..

*Open / forward / assign port 80 (or other) in your router/modem to the local and static IP-adres of your HC2.

This wil make the Home Center 2 accessible out side of your Local Area Network @ port 80 )

If done, Then you can use your Public-ip adres

Please login or register to see this link.

 ("x" marks your private/public ip-adres @ port 80) to connect.

You can get access in the Fibaro app (for example when you have an iPhone and arent using your home wifi-connection) if you go to "settings" -> "Choose HC" --> "Edit" -> and give in your public IP adres in the field where "IP" stands. (note: this is NOT YOUR Local IP)

Now you wil be able to connect remotely to the HC2 when using an iPhone.

But hopefully @ the Fibaro support tech team, please restore the remote connection on Firmware 3.600...

Today it works again! (21-12-2016)

Could someone confirm that it works again whom is on FW 3.600????

  • Fibaro has confirmed that some fix was done to allow users who stay on 3.6 to log in remotely. Although this fix is only temporary and in future the remote access will be taken away for good.

I'm using version 4.100 and I've been unable to connect to my HCL since just before christmas :/

Edit: I did a reset on the fibaro app on my android phone just now and it started working again *yey*
