Rackmounted HC2?

LeeSteventon

Question

An unusual request maybe, but: what are the possibilities to rack mount the HC2 in a 19" rack (purely for neatness and asthetics), and not just on a shelf, but using rackmount kits / ears?

Im gonna use an one HE shelve for that.

The only thing that Im still kinda concerned of is what the metal 22he IT rack will do to the Zwave signal....

The other factor would be cooling as it can run quite hot at times

You would need to have good airflow around the box within the rack and extend the antenna outside/away from the metal work of the rack

For installation in a rack you could use a 1U shelf like the following

As for the OP's question; I built a HC2 rack mount from a 1U brush panel. Can't tell you how it works yet, but it looks really nice to me. See yourselves.
