Smoke sensors broadcast

jaha

Question

Hi

How can I set up two Fibaro smoke sensors to alarm if one of them detects smoke?

If smoke sensor 1 detects smoke it will also make smoke sensor 2 alarm.

Is this possible?

This is impossible unfortunately.
Those are battery operated devices and they are sleeping most of the time, there is no way to turn on the siren in this devices remotely.

I was thinking... FGSS-001 accepts 12 - 24 V DC or batteries, but I think Mr Roszak's answer still applies. The manual does not mention any response to alarm frames (or configuration for that matter). Later models lost the DC power ability. Am I right?

Yes, older models accepts 12-24 VDC - but in design main power supply is battery. Those devices won't respond to alarm frames.

And another yes, later models lost DC power ability due the certification reasons.

Can't you connect all your smoke sensor to a Z-wave alarm?

All battery operated devices will turn off there z-wave antenna to preserve their batteries and only turn them on in 2 cases:

-> every 6 hours (by default) to check if there are some parameters to be changed

-> when trigged by its own sensors to report the new value

There is no way, a z-wave fire alarm frame can enter the device to trigger the sound, except every 6 hours witch will be to late I guess ;)
