Bodyart

Question

Hi All!

Sometimes also to save storage I try to delete some old backups, but the system says: Access Forbidden.

Is there a rule for making and deleting backups?

B.t.w. yesterday I had the same situation and after rebooting HC2 that backup i intended to delete was gone.

Can't figure out this isuue....

HI @Bodyart

No problem here either

Are you logged in as superuser or another account that may not have the correct permissions

Is this happening with all backups, have you tried a more recent on ?

  • Hi @AutoFrank,I'm always in as superuser and some backups I'm able to delete and some not. Can't figure out the algoritm...

Please login or register to see this attachment.

I'm trying to keep mostly about 3 backups in order to save the room on USB (recovery) stick.

Right now I just tried to delete one bakup, without success, then I made a new one. When the new backup was finished, and the gui refreshed, suddenly I saw the backup I tried to delete was gone.

Go to the "Recovery" tab and run "Checksum". If it says NOK you have an issue with your hardware dongle. If the test says OK, it might be only the individual backups that have been corrupted.

There was an issue with some (special or international) characters in backup names several firmware versions ago,  I am not sure this is still relevant.

You might read posts that tell you to plug the recovery drive in your PC and clean up... but I am not fond of that solution. It might make things worse. I'd contact support so they can remotely diagnose the problem (run a disk check program and clean up invalid files).

  • Thanks @petergebruers for that idea.

The checksum seems to be ok. I've just verified it, see below:

I didn't use any diacritics in my devices, or scenes.

  • @petergebruers,

thanks Peter for your support anyway. B.t.w. i did try the checksum already earlier and it was OK all the time. I'm afraid I have to contact the Fibaro support then....
