Hi @Sjekke,

How big is the difference? Less than degree or more?

To add correction to the measured temperature check parameter 73 on Advanced tab of the smoke sensor.

Well then, if it is around 0.5'C then it is Ok, nothing to worry about. In manual you have stated accuracy:

"Temperature measuring accuracy: 0.5°C (within 0-55°C range)"

  • Sankotronic, is t me ... but I don't see a parameter 73 in the advanced tab. It stops at 32 ...

Parameter 32 : Lack of Z-Wave range indication interval.

    cheers

    Hi @Sjekke,

You are right. I was checking smoke sensor version 2.5 with template version 263 and that version has parameter 73 to adjust temperature measurement.

Smoke sensor version 3.3 with template version 597 doesn't have that parameter so it is not possible to adjust measured temperature.

So, what version is your smoke sensor?

I have a smoke sensor version 3.3 which gives a 1.5 degrees difference with other thermometers, so I would like to correct that.
Before the template items, there is a temperature correction time (-100 .. +100 degrees).

I tried that, but it does not seem to store the value.
Is there a way to use that?

@Willem Jan you're posting to an old topic with a slightly different subject but that's OK.

    • A difference of 1,5 °C seems plausible to me. As a rule of thumb, temperature increases by 1 - 1.5 °C per meter height. But it also depends on air flow, accuracy of your other sensors etc. Even some parameters affect the reporting. If you want to establish if it is faulty (you do not say that), please put 2 or more sensors in a closed container and shield it from air, sun, halogen lamps. Look at the temp graphs over a period of about 6 hours. Tell me if you want to discuss this with me.
    • Although I'm using my HA since 2012, I have never used that slider! So I was curious. I'm on 4.152 and I can only set a whole number. I suppose it should be possible to set decimals, but the thing seems to round... This might be an issue with the HC firmware, I don't know.
    • The older FGSS-001 has a parameter to adjust temperature reports. The newer FGSD-002 does not have it. I'm not talking about that slider, but about an adjustment on the device P73 and P88). If you do not know the model number, The FGSD has firmware > 3.0. This is speculation but they probably dropped it because the FGSD is much more accurate out of the box.
    • If you're interested in establishing "exact room temperature" you might be interested in my topic on thermostat sensors:
