Translating IP/docs in HCL string for VD

I was starting to read thru and try the docs as available on my HCL (IP Address/docs).

So I created a variable to try. I tried the PUT command and it all works like a charm after some trial and error. But how do I translate this into a string to be used e.g. for a button in a virtual device? the docs subpage provides no clue about this. Currently I have given up as it is just trial and error without having a clue what is wrong.

It would be incredible helpful if the docs page would show the string as well in the format it has to be put into the VD String section. It would definitely help beginners like me

I 'coded' this into the button for EIN, but do not see any reaction. base64coded means that this is my admin login and password but coded)

This VD works with fw. 4.100 have not tried 4.120

Important! Only change with copy paste, do not move / change empty lines or spaces. 

 

Use the same IP address and TCP port as on screen dump.

Hurra!!!! it finally works with 4.120. Thanks a lot.

There is one thing in your example that I was able to remove. You do have a <space> character on the empty line, this one I do not need, but the empty line is definitely necessary. Why? only lady Ada might know.

I also only manage to get it running with localhost, no way to get it running with the IP of the HCL.

what a nightmare.......

I tried to set a second variable with the same button but no chance..........

Now based on this example I will try to get the current status when in the VD as well....... will for sure take another week or so to find out how this might work
