Fibaro Skill now available in Alexa store

AutoFrank

Question

Hi everyone,

Exciting times ahead..:D:D .

.... @fat spotted that the official Fibaro Skill is now available in the Alexa store.

Hi @T.Konopka - Do we need a new hc2 fw release to be able to leverage this or is it usable straightaway ?

Feedback from anybody getting it successfully running most welcome...

Thanks

-f

PS - I'll be looking this later and will try and create a Tutorial

PPS - Looks like we don't need new fw, anything after 4.112 will work...

I'm connected to amazon germany and 45 smart home skills are available. No Fibaro skills there.

Any ideas?

@Brunanchon, @ocollus, please give me some more time, I will post here all of the requirements for the scenes to be Alexa-friendly.

You may need to change location to UK or USA in your Alexa settings.

Still my echo does not retrieve Fibaro devices. I wonder how it works for some people and doesn't work for others. There must be a reason. It could be regional for example. Can anyone explain?

When are the expected German skills?

We are still working on it. I know, that you'd like to hear some details, but I really cannot tell anything else for now.

@M.Baranowski  Any new news?

The past few weeks, the Alexa integration has worked quite well on most of the devices it discovered, but today it stopped working.

Alexa now always answers "Sorry, <device> is not responding".

The Alexa app shows all devices as "(Offline)".

Restarting the HC2 did not help.

The HC2 seems to be working normally, also remotely.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip Akatar, but I had already tried that before, without any improvement.

All (68) devices were still marked "(Offline)" after the re-discovery, and still when I checked back a few hours later.

But this morning, for some reason, they were all back online, and Alexa was able to control them again.

Maybe Fibaro was updating the skill last night?

Or maybe Alexa just needed a good night sleep...

Anyway, I do hope this doesn't happen too often and it would be good to know what causes it..

I was collecting necessary information about scenes running with Alexa. Here are all of the requirements for the scene to be available for Alexa.

The scene:

1) must be set as visible (visible: true),
2) is active (runConfig: MANUAL_ONLY or TRIGGER_AND_MANUAL),
3) is not Magic or LUA (type:com.fibaro.magicScene or type:type:com.fibaro.luaScene),
4) need to have at least one actor type device in action section (lower part, not the triggering one),
6) shouldn't run other scene which does not fulfill the above specification.

Really? I can't find it.

I have searched in the alexa app and the the browser (alexa.amazon.com). But there is no app from fibaro.

The german skill is now available again. It works fine for me, but some devices are not available or don´t react ("this command doesn´t work for this device" - Fibaro roller shutter)...
