How to use my HomeKit motion sensor (no motion)

Recommended Posts

About the only thing I can do with my motion sensor is to trigger something (light for example) when it senses movement.

What about turning the lights off after 15 minutes if no movement is detected. Homekit has no logic that permits "no motion detected".

What am I left with?

How could I send a request to an external system (www.imsmart.tech for example) so I can control the "no motion" events?

Hi @PaulD!

It is possible to set automation due to the "no movement".

You can also set, for how long does the "movement" sustain:

I think you are wrong about logic in homekit because sure you can find "no motion detected" logic in Apple Home app which as example you can use together with Fibaros "detection sustain time" parameter in Fibaro homekit app.

I have to correct you here, there is "logic" for "No motion detected.

And it's up to the sensor to decide whether there is no motion, so as you can see above, there is a setting for "Detection sustain time".

Then in HomeKit you have settings:
