Two HA bridge requests submitted to BWS

AutoFrank

Question

Hi,

I just wanted to let the forum know that I have submitted two requests to BW Systems for the HA bridge

1) Extra verbal commands - There was reference to activate/deactivate and run/stop in the Git documentation so I asked for clarity on that. I also ask for Open/Close for http requests

2) Speaker control of the echo device itself - volume up/down and mute

I'll let you know what the response is

Hi Frank,

I am not quite sure what you mean by #2.  as I am sure you know the normal commands for Alexa is

Alexa, set volume to 7  (anything between 1 and 10)

or

Alexa Softer (one step softer at a time)

or

Alexa Louder (as above)

Then to Mute:

Alexa MUTE

or

Alexa Stop -  has same result

then just

Alexa, RESUME and the previous whatever will continue

If you meant something else, I do hope that the above is helpful to others

    Thanks @lennypenny

I wasn't aware of these and they will be very helpful, thanks for sharing,.....

I was looking for the ability to be able to execute these commands from a scene or vd so I could automatically drop the volume at night or mute the echo devices in the kids rooms when they are asleep

Is there a way to do this that you are aware of ?

    Hi Frank,

No I have not had to think about it.  We might ask @morpheus75 to chuck in his thoughts

volume change with scene is a useful feature especially with kids. but unfortunately ive no idea how to implement it.

    Thanks @morpheus75

Let's see what BWS  say ...

Btw, I'm almost finished a scene that will enable basis control of all your Sonos players

I've used startscene and pass two parameters ( player and action) for a task

I also found a post from @Dave Harrison that shows how to enter it into the HA bridge. It's an improvement over what I posted as you need just on scene and not one vd per player

Should be able to test and post solution this evening hopefully

No luck from the BW Systems

I'll take another look at the AWS API and see if I can get a token and get a VD up and running

    might take a while ...

    will keep you posted :-)

    Update on alternative words

    Again not much luck here...
