Overcurrent Issue on Dimmer 2 and zwave communication including B button stops working.

Jibran

Question

Hello,

i have been using the fibaro system for more than 1 year now. Few days ago I am facing several issues on dimmers and relays .

PROBLEM WITH FIBARO SWITCH 2:-

First Fibaro relay 2 or switch 2 stops working remotely . i tried from the Mobile or iphone . It did not respond . when I open or close the switch manually, it responds, I wonder what has happened ? then i changed the Module with the new one. After 1 day same response. No B-button working. No wireless communication. Only working through switch.

PROBLEM WITH FIBARO DIMMER 2:-

Secondly, Dimmer 2 gives messages for overcurrent . I checked the wires and lights more than 3 times. All is ok . but it still gives the same error.. But dimmer is working.

Only gives overcurrent message with that .  Than i tried non dimmable led on dimmer 2 with changed configuration ( Only off and on No dimming). But gives the same error.

Please if anybody reads this , please do respond or help .

Thankyou

Hi @Jibran,

Maybe some silly questions, but they can help to determine the problem.

Dimmer 2 problem:

  • What is the light? LED, Halogen, ...?
  • Did you tried recalibration?
  • Do you have Bypass there?

Switch 2 problem:

  • What is distance between HC and Switch 2?
    • Wall material?
    • Distance from switching power supplies is more than 1m?
  • Do you have Associations group 1 set to HC?
  • If you get near Wall plug and reconfigure mesh, does it help?

    Dimmer 2 problem :

Light source is 10w led. total leds are 8 in number.

Did not use any Bypass as load is beyond 50w.

No. i didnt try recalibration as first time i recalibrate it manually .

    Switch 2 Problem:

    1. Distance is not very far. it is between 10 meters inside.

    2. Wall material is simple brick and cemented.

3 Distance from switch is less than 10 inches.

    4. I tried to reconfigure may times but leaves me a message that Reconfiguration fails. no b-button working. cant delete the node from controller because nothing works related to the switch. Just turn on and off from switch manually.

    5. I tested the voltage on LIVE, Neutral and output. Device is getting the input voltage from live. Neutral works normal. But no Output when control from APP or web control.

    @Jibran,

    Dimmer 2:

Ok then. Even if load is more than 50W, get there bypass. LEDs needs it.

    Switch 2:

    • Sorry wrong word use :D. I meant switched power supply, like one below.

    hf240w-sf-12.jpg

    • Any speakers near?
    • Did you check Associations Group 1 in Switch 2?

Ok. I will try to connect bypass this time..

    Switch 2 Problem :

    1. No Speakers Near.

    2. Did not associate any module with switch 2. So association is not used.

    3. The distance between Power supply and module is between 10 meters but Distance between switch and module is less than 10 inches.

    4. Even if i want to reset the Switch from b button , i cant. tried several times. repeated procedure many times .

OK, if you click on B-button, does the state changes? If not, then i think you have faulty Switch.

    Some other silly questions

    • What release of firmware are you running on the HC2
    • Did you upgrade the HC2 firmware recently
    • Did you deploy any new code (scene or lua) or hardware recently
    • Do you have any Fibaro RGBW modules and are they up to the latest revisions (26.XX) - Down rev modules (25.xx or lower) can cause association type issues

Thankyou For all the answers and replies. And i cant set the module into production (stock) settings because the module is not communicating, When i Changed the state of the device into default settings, message appears out to be communication failed.

The Firmware i am using is 4.133 beta . Did not make any scene and did not associate any modules.

    Sorry for the delay.

Hey @Jibran May be try disconnecting power to module, then force deleting from HC2, then renew power to module, then factory reset module then reinclude.

I have also tried that method.. Force deleted the module from the fibaro, then tried to get response from the module by pressing B-button. There is no indication light appears after the pressing of the button ( Fibaro Switch 2 ) .

    @Jibran,

While reading few last responces, i think that your module is faulty. It may be Z-Wave part or there is something burned.
