Fibaro Door/Window sensor 2 - what trigger to use?

LtEriksson

Question

I'm new to this and I'm not sure about the triggers for the Fibaro Door/Window sensor 2

"Breached", "Breached and armed" or "Breached and disarmed"

I get "To many instances" for the scenes all the time.

- The sensor is on the catdoor, I'm trying to log if the cat is in och out (IN Fresa=1, OUT Fresa=0)

in the first scene if Fresa=1 you set Fresa=0 .

How is it possible to be again Fresa=1?

I do not see any logic looking at both scenes together

    you have a loop

    if fresa=0 then fresa=1

    if fresa=1 then fresa=0

delete one of the two and see if you still get too many instances

  • I will test that but I get "To many instances" for this scene to, I'm missing something but I can't find out what.

Anyone that could help me explain "instances" - or point me to somewhere I could find more information?

    Hi @LtEriksson,

Important part is missing from your pictures of the scenes and that is above block scene where are shown triggers. I don't use block scenes but if there is a check in front of global variable then just remove it. Only trigger you need here is the one from cat door sensor.

How many instances have you set to be allowed? With the 3 possible triggers (if states), then should not the max instances be set to 3?
(I just had this issue but in LUA code (with just the one possible trigger state, so I could abort if scene count greater than 1. Guessing you cannot do that in block scenes).

Funnily enough, was @Sankotronic's post here which I was reading:

Apologies if totally off topic :)

I'm still learning madly, so could be totally wrong here.

    Hi @jemichae,

what you mentioned is not OT, just part of the problem. But still it is very important what is set to trigger scene to run and it is not show on pictures above. Also it depends on how sensor is used and how that cat door is opening closing. Does it flips after cat pass through and then triggers sensor more than once?

  • The only thing that trigger the scene is the Door/window sensor. The sensor is on the cat door so it open and close with the cat door, the cat door doens not flip after the cat passes - it close at once.
As of now I only accept one running scene but since I'm not sure how it works and have to ask for help it might be wrong, maybe I should accept more running scenes?
