"Advanced" Alarm Panel

Question

Posted

Is it me or does the Alarm panel have a nice easy to use interface but has absolutely no configuration section for configuring, setting off and disabling an Alarm (Siren)?

I know we can code this but I don't really have the time (home automation for me is more a practical solution to issues I have than a hobby I want to immerse myself in)

Am I the only one using Fibaro kit who finds it odd that the "Alarm" panel places more emphasis on closing and opening window blinds than activating an Alarm?

I'm with you there.   I've come from a Vera environment and there it was pleasantly suprising that a breached sensor that was armed triggered any sirens in the system.    In HC2 my sirens don't even appear in the list of actors for the alarm scenes unless I change their type to be light bulbs or shutters or something else quiet rediculous - anything apart from a security device.

Hi gents,

I'm working on universal HA system for HC2 that will give newbies chance to get satisfactory home automation in few steps. It will cover basic stuff like timers, scheduler, lighting, safety and alarms, weather state and forecast, alarm clock and reminder and in future also heating, irrigation etc. You can see more about this here:

yeah i think its a bad thing to

Fibaro just add sirene off and lights off to,

to the interface and an option to select sirene instead of a light in the device settings
